|How do you all clean your Agas? I use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser on the top and outside. I used the Astonish when we first got it, but once I discovered the magic eraser, I switched to that. It does a much better job than the Astonish.
I've not had much luck with anything for the inside. I can wipe wet spills from the WO and SO easily but in the other two, by the time I discover something has spilled over, it's pretty much glued on there. Once I turned the whole thing off and let it cool to see if I could get it really clean. I couldn't get anything off. So I decided to just not worry about the inside of the ovens! They eventually burn themselves somewhat clean, esp the RO. We continue to put things on the floor of the RO, like pizza, and have no problems.
A friend got a steam cleaner for Christmas. It's meant mainly for floor but has handheld attachments for other things. We were thinking this might work great on the areas around the hobs that are hard to clean. So hopefully we'll try that out one of these days and I can see if I need to get one of those.
One thing I have done occasionally to get to those harder spots is to take a fairly wet rag and wedge it into those spots, then leave it for a while. The heat of the Aga plus the water/steam gets them somewhat cleaner. The problem is that I'm lazy and I let it go too long between cleaning!
I have kept my hobs covered with the Aga round pads from day one so my lids are still very nice looking.
And we typically keep a dish towel on top of the warming plate with a dish drainer on top of that and we dry all the things that don't go in the dishwasher there. So the warming plate still looks like new.
Now if I could just get all the pet hair off the black top! All our pets have light colored hair and it's impossible to get it all off!!!
