The NFL is full of news and excitement for all of us who live and breathe the professional side of football. Even college football fans can find plenty to be excited about when it comes to the months of February, March and April.

This week the NFL Combine is underway in Indianapolis. After the combine, the pundits will assess and critique the performances of all the participants. Film from their previous college year will be scrutinized, interviews with friends and family will be conducted to see if they have skeletons in their closet, and of course, the inevitable "mock" drafts will rule the airwaves and sports columns....culminating with the NFL draft on the last weekend of April.

If all that isn't enough, there's some added drama this year with the owners and player's association hopefully working out the details of a new collective bargaining agreement.

The "so-called" skilled positions will be evaluated on Sunday, the QBs, RBs. and WRs.

The combine will tell plenty about the mechanics a particular player may or may not have. What it doesn't measure is 'heart' and 'head'. Don't forget, JaMarcus Russell was quite a hit at the combine.

My "home" team, the Cardinals, have done quite well so far. The got arguably the best defensive back in the draft with their first pick. Many had him going first overall. They came back with a very good RB in the second round out of Va. Tech. Then in round 3 they got one of the top rated Tight Ends in the draft in Housler. In rounds 4 and 6 they got defensive linemen that were both rated in the 70s!!! They will surely get high marks on their draft class this year.

well, we lost our star running back to the hated eagles but I think the cowboys didv the right thing. they picked up mcfaden from the raiders to replace him.

it's always about the money but we will see how murry does without the offensive line of the cowboys and at the same time we will see how mcfaden does with that offensive line.

Packers were able to resign Randell Cobb (receiver) & Bryan Buluga (offensive lineman) so things look good for next year.
