Here's a little video demonstrating how to propagate Iochroma. Enjoy!

And in the end...a happy beginning!
Nice tutorial, Gordo/Liz. And great pics, too!

I recently fell in love with Iochroma this past winter. It is now one of my favorite plants. So far I only have "Royal Queen Purple" and it sure blooms like crazy!

Glad to hear from another Iochroma lover. They're pretty tough plants. They made it through our freeze last year and are one of the few plants I grow that doesn't seem to be too affected by super high temps.

Since my Brugs aren't available for making seed this year, I've turned to hybridizing Iochroma. I just planted some Iochroma crossed seed yesterday. I'll report the results when they bloom.

Awesome video, Liz! I've tried to propagate Iochroma but it hasn't worked for me. I'll have to try your method.

I do have a question, Liz. Why doesn't the stems on my plants get thick?

Hi Donna...

Sorry for the late reply. Spring is here!
I would really have to have a better idea about which stems and at what stage of growth you're referring to.
New cuttungs, or established plant?

Regards,
Liz

A Little Bit Of Paradise

I have a leafy refuge where big things happen in a small way. We grow and hybridize Brugmansia, Passiflora, Amaryllis and a host of other tropical plants and flowering vines. We also enjoy art, writing, music, creating video presentations and woodworking.
