I know this won't make me very popular, but I'm not especially fond of this flower.........

But, oh my gosh, this photo is outstanding! It needs to be a painting! Or better yet....a Window Painting!

I wasn't too happy with Passiflora either...until I began researching the various species and cultivars. The variations in form and color are just astonishing! There are tiny ones, huge ones, ones that make fruit, one's that smell awful, ones that smell heavenly, aggressive ones, shy ones...

The list is endless.
Now, I'm hooked.
Look! Parachutes!

As a photographic subject, these flowers are just outstanding. Lots of color, form, movement (winding spirals and tendrils). They're butterfly, moth and insect magnets too. Lots of opportunities for great shots with little effort.

I not only love the photo, I love these flowers. I'm trying now to gather seeds of different cultivars and species. I grow many, but am not satisfied.
What gardener is? You can never have enough passions. I just looked into joining the passiflora society, but I don't like that they
don't include an online forum. Boring! I want to get to know the members and hear what they have to say, and how they work with this spectacular plant!
Great cubit Liz! BTW, are you planning on moving it?

A Little Bit Of Paradise

I have a leafy refuge where big things happen in a small way. We grow and hybridize Brugmansia, Passiflora, Amaryllis and a host of other tropical plants and flowering vines. We also enjoy art, writing, music, creating video presentations and woodworking.
