Here's our second challenge, due by the middle of March.
You can create your art work in any medium using this picture as your base. You may paint it, draw it, sculpt it, mix your media, abstract it....anything you want to do. We only ask that you retain the subject as is in the original photo.
Pollyk has the Iris Cubit and her amazing photos are beautiful. I've borrowed this photo from her, and I think you'll enjoy working with it. I also think it will adapt well with any medium.
Sharon, you're killing me! That's going to be a hard one on the puter. I should dust off my paints and brushes for this one. It's been a long time since I opened that cabinet. Maybe some mousy ate my brushes.
Sheryl, I use Adobe Illustrator. It's kind of like CAD, but different. I'll probably use the gradient mesh tool with lots of rows and columns. It makes a nice look if I can find the right colors. I better go download the picture first.
Sharron I bet all my acrylics are hard as rocks. I used to draw flowers on bird houses and Anna would sell them when she had her floral shop. That was a while back!
It's a tough one to learn. I learned the basics through engaged learning, but then took a semester of Illustrator at our local college. Steady hands, and practice, practice and practice more. The fun part is adding color to all the shapes. I look at some of the colors on the prairie flowers I drew when I first started and cringe. I'm in the process of redoing some of them, but not too many. The past is the past. This is one I updated last week. Downy Gentian.
I'm getting off the subject of this thread, so Iris, get ready!
