| Hello folks! Just joined this cubit! The blue plant I have are Peter Pan Agapanthus, though right now they are just throwing off its flower bulbs, hoping for the blooms to come about as soon as real summer weather decides to come in. It has been overcast and oftentimes rainy and cooler, so I guess delay in the blooms. Ah but no complaints here, good things comes with patience. I feel bad for others suffering with all the flooding, tornadoes..keeping them in prayers for better outcomes soon. I do have some Viola's making a quick comeback, have pruned them back mid-spring and with the mild weather, here they are coming back once more Peter Pan Agapanthus ![]() Violas early in Spring March 2011 ![]() Violas making a comeback this June 2011 ![]() |

CC, I love the ajuga, and have it growing wild here, of course there's a little difference in my wild and yours. Still pretty! Vic....you have no idea how much I love hydrangeas. I must have killed a dozen over the years, but yep, i'm trying it again, and this time it might just make it. It's of course only about 10 inches high and maybe as round, but it has BUDS. I'm so excited. Hi Tarev!! Welcome. Your violas look great, but I can 't wait to see that agapanthus! Be sure you post a picture when it blooms. So glad you could join us. Don't miss the Blue Blooms thread here, too. We are trying to see how many blue blooming plants we all have. You'll want to take a look and maybe add yours too. It's hard to believe it's only been a month since I was moaning about all the flooding we had here. A single month. And today the temp hit 98*. Miserably hot for early June. And we haven't had rain since I returned from Iowa on May 20. Oh my....another long hot, dry summer, I'm afraid. But my daylilies are in full bud...can't wait for the first one to bloom. I'm not including my stellas...they've bloomed for about a week or two. I'm just anxious to see the big guys! Maybe tomorrow.... |

| Hello Tarev, mice to see you here. I see you garden in a warm zone, probably can grow lots of species I can't in cold New England. Maria "Those who do not learn from the past are condemned to repeat it" G. Santayana |

| Maria, how close were you to all that bad weather this week? I was worried about you but saw you posting and was so thankful you were OK. |
| The tornado went SW to SE across western & central MA. Both Maria & I are in the East; she south of Boston & I am NE of Boston. All serene in our part. |

| Oh good, thanks, Lucy! |

Same pose as yesterday but it's bluer today ![]() Sharon, my sister-in-law has trouble growing them too. She did have hers in full sun so I told her to put in it in mostly shade. She's on her third try. |
| Oh yes! Bluer is good. I love it. I put mine in mostly shade this time, too. So far, so good. There's always hope. |

| Great pictures All. Tail end of Japonese primulas. Nice surprise: had several ('Miller's Crimson') which seeded. ![]() Last of the globeflowers ('T. Smith'). Like the way it stays compact. ![]() Never trust a garden centre/nursery! Bought this iris as 'Mary Frances', which it certainly is not. Would never buy an iris now if it is not in bloom. The cheddar pinks are 'Bath's Pink'. They do wonderfully in our (upgraded) clay soil. This clump is about five years old (read it's short lived) and has been cut back a number of times. ![]() |
