Not that it's spring yet, but we can dream, can't we?
I got tired of looking at snow in our last thread. Let's see what spring brings with it!
Happy almost March!
This is the seat of another chair I did, this time in orange with a Himalayan poppy in its seat!
Well, as we are in the midst of another snowstorm, spring feels a long way off. I am, however, very excited that it is almost March! A few steps closer to warmer days! Love that chair!
Serious storms last night and this morning, tornadoes all around, but this afternoon I have sunshine and 72 degrees. Hardest hit was just north of me, across the Ohio River in Harrisburg Illinois. Lots of deaths and destruction there. I have friends there that I haven't heard from yet.
Now it's more in central KY, moving east toward the mountains. It will not be as destructive there, the mountains protect themselves. Our tornado weather is coming early this year.

Some here, too, Sharon.
There are two huge tulip magnolias on my way to W*M in full bloom! They sure are pretty. I think the dogwoods are budding, too. I have buttercups blooming, hyacinths budding, and lilies, too! Can't wait! 74* here, now!
Never tried it, CC. But if the buds are fairly well formed I've forced a regular wild dogwood into bloom.
And back in the days when you could buy bottles of ink, I've turned those dogwood blooms blue, too.
Then had to buy my mother more ink to replace the entire bottle that I poured into the dogwood water.
Grumble.
'Nother story. But a great idea at the time.

Well you know............we're sstill waiting for another story from your youth. You are sooooooooooooooooooo very interesting, At least to me you are.
I think Audrey meant 'root', not 'toot', LOL! Cece, I love those primroses and the forsythia... I don't think there is anything here ready to force yet. But I am going to try to force some lilacs when I can. My gardenia, which seems to bloom year round (inside in the winter, outside in the summer) sure makes me happy. And the beautiful phaleonopsis orchid that Tony gave me for Valentines Day has had two more buds open, and I'm hoping it is making more! I might have to go to the nursery and get some primroses, though... such happy flowers.
And yes Sharon, another snowstorm. We seem to be in a weather pattern of snow dump, melt, snow dump, melt.
I'm whining a little bit today... a few months ago when I had a pretty bad cold that lasted for a long time (and I couldn't stop coughing), I pulled a muscle or tore the cartalige in my left rib cage. It eventually got better, but apparently I've re-injured it, so I've been in pretty severe pain since Tuesday. Nothing to do for it but motrins and red wine (LOL!)... but tonight I am supposed to work and my job is quite physical. Trying to get someone to cover my shift... please think healing thoughts for me!
Painfree thinking coming your way, Brenda.
Sometimes whining times are good for all of us. Gets those whines right out of our systems while we wait for more sunshine.
Lucy, I tried to move this thread up, not sure it happened though.
Since you've posted now you probably won't need to search for it.
Ouch, Brenda, sorry to hear of the injury. My doctor told me that some people even break a rib from coughing so hard! I still have a lousy cold, and it's the worst one I've ever had. Thankfully, the coughing and congestion is starting to go away, and I'm not running a temp anymore. Sending prayers for healing your way.
