1/2" of rain last night. cooler temps today. On & off showers predicted for tomorrow. I hope that it stays cool. I planted a creeping style plant of stonecrop today. Have to do more weeding & check on my seedpods on the smaller irises. 3 days of heat were just too many.

Time for more equal rights? Seems only fair for everyone to be able to do the same thing!
We went to the Atlantic City area last week for a trip prior to Marie's treatments starting this week. Lots of fun with trips to Atlantic City, Cape May, taking the Cape May - Lewes Ferry both there and back, Ocean City (NJ), Long Beach Island, and other places; kite flying, beaches, boardwalks, lots of interesting restaurants. For Skye's birthday on Monday, he got to pick the activities which included a golf outing of 9 holes on a real golf course and practice on the driving range and putting greens. We stayed at a time share with access to a golf course, so the expense was reasonable.
I am still not fond of golf courses with all the maintenance and loss of trees, but the alternative pointed out to me could be a mall or similar with no trees at all.
On one beach I walked along I stumbled across an area where some of the locals decide to let it all hang out, quite literally, no tan lines allowed! A bit surprised to see on a public beach, but I tend towards a more cosmopolitan perspective - it just depends on the culture and circumstances as to what is acceptable. I do find it interesting how violence is viewed as more acceptable than nudity, though, which I think should be the other way around.
We had Skye's local birthday celebration yesterday, after returning from our trip at 9 on Saturday night, but it worked out OK. Several friends came and we all had fun. There is a nature center at a local park with lots of interesting displays, including skulls and footprints of various animals to match up (we find skulls and bones on our explorations occasionally, so we try to figure out what we find), bird nests, several tanks with local critters, and one large tank with local fish that you walk down to view through a large glass wall.
Our recent forecast is for 106 on Friday - I sure hope it changes.
Visits around here will be limited I expect as I work through other challenges, but I will try to keep up as I can. Have a good day everyone.
Thanks Margaret, but no, neither fits. It's more spidery and the color difference is more pronounced in the two sets of petals. It's very close to Prairie Blue Eyes, though. I'll keep that in mind, but the spider form makes me think it's no match.
