It's time to turn the page and get ready for Christmas! I'm so thankful for those of you who keep our pages turning here in our Blue Gardens, it's always fun to read about other parts of this beautiful world of ours and though we are spread far apart, it's our love of gardening and Nature that keeps us bound together.

It's been a long time since the first BG chat thread in February 2010. We are as excited now about our cubit as we were then. It's sometimes amazing how much chatter fills our pages from one week to the next, but it's nice to be able to come here and visit, no matter the weather.

We came from here: http://cubits.org/bluegardens/thread/view/82676/

Thanks Nap for this beautiful picture to start our new season!

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep. Smiling

Love that, Moon, thank you!

Moon, has anyone ever asked you 'why books were written'? And if anyone ever did what would you tell them?

Great snow photos!

Loved the piano links. I copied them for Wilma, who is a pianist, so that she can listen and watch tomorrow.

Eagerly awaiting the answer to Sharon's question about books.

Flying by this morning...no time to comment on yesterday's post but know that I have read them and opened tabs to all the links.

Raining cats and dogs here...

Sharon - please don't try to figure this out yourself. Please - just give the doctor heads up on what's going on. Please Group hug Group hug

Why are you flying by, Vic? You can't fly with all those cats and dogs falling.

She might be able to dodge the dogs, cats never.

Sharon, it might be an intermittent thing, so call the Dr. & find out what to do if it comes again. Like my spasms only happen once in awhile. & they give no warning. We are working on those.

Heard the backing up toot of the oil truck, so know it was backing down the driveway. Drizzle & the high 40s predicted for the day, gloomy overcast as well.

Swirling snow makes winter official. I don't pay much attention to the official start of winter which is still about 3 weeks away. Drifts had started forming before daylight. Our back gate has drifts on both sides. The wind is from the southeast, temperature steady at 15 since before daylight. This is not fall with it's pretty leaves and garden-clean-up temperatures, this is winter! North and west of us they have freezing rain and numerous vehicle wrecks, closed highways, closed schools... I'd say they believe it is winter there as well. I'm glad that my co-op day was yesterday and that we picked up a few essential groceries on our way out of town. Safeway was very busy because the second grocery store is officially closed now, sold out to the bare walls. The discounts went up as their inventory went down and were 80-90% on the last day. We didn't go.

I'm sure some of you folks posted while my message sat unsent while we ate breakfast and I started a load of laundry.

I hope Sharon is not a dizzy blonde this morning!
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

Nope, not a dizzy blond today! Feeling just fine this morning but I did call my doctor's office and my doctor called me back. She thinks that I should put myself on an eating schedule. Humph. Sounds like feeding a baby.

I guess she's right. You know I've always said that I eat so I can live, I don't live just to eat. And most of the time I just grab something fast to eat whenever I think about it, not at a regular time and with just a few bites, I'm full and it's over. So I must change that starting now, just to see if it makes a difference.

I hate when I'm wrong. But I'm wrong about this and I know the change will make a difference. She said by eating at scheduled times the energy should even out as well. It's either that or add all the iron and potassium and other pills back into my menu, which I hate even more than eating. So the idea is to graze through 3 meals, every single day, even if it's just a cup of yogurt and fruit in the morning, maybe cheese or p'nut butter around 1 or 2, then even just salad or soup, maybe boiled eggs . . . whatever I can eat in the evening no later than 6 or 7. I can do this. I'd hate for my obit to read that I starved myself to death. It's for sure not deliberate, it's just that food isn't something that has high priority in my life.

I cooked chicken for Sunshine yesterday, lots of chicken. I freeze it in little one meal packets so since I take all the bones and gristly stuff as well as the skin out before packaging, I'll make chicken salad from one of them. I can always eat chicken salad or tuna salad. I can also usually eat noodle soups and there is a bean with bacon soup that Campbell's makes that I like. So it feels like I'm starting over, but that's the plan.

This is a long read, but I'll share it with you here. The lady behind Images for Renewal, along with several lady friends in my life, encouraged me to write it saying women need to know, just as the men who love them should know too. Heart attacks are all different and don't 'feel' the same to everyone. So I struggled through the writing but if it helps just one person then it will be worth my struggles. I think you've all read most of it along the way, so it probably won't be new to you:

Ya know, Vic, most people skip over links like that and I'm as guilty as anybody. It wasn't easy to write and might be also difficult to read, but I was lucky and there are others who might not be. So thanks for taking time to read it.

I was blind when it came to symptoms, no doubt everybody would be. Just as I'm still blind about important schedules and things like that. We always think it's for somebody else, never once thinking it could be us.

Thank you.

I was already pretty weepy by the time I read that Sunshine closed her eyes and that did me in. I had to stop crying so I could finish reading it.

It's been A DAY - had to run into Walmart - UGH - was there longer than I anticipated, drove the old car, left the lights on, car wouldn't turn over. Had I driven the Sienna, it turns the lights off for idiots like me Whistling Called Hank - no answer, called Hank again, no answer, left message, called AAA and they said it would be an hour. Fine. I'll be here. The towing place called that would jump the battery and said it would be two hours. I said fine but when I hung up I said bad words. *Blush* Thought I would try Hank again but let me see if it will turn over. Put the key in, said help me Lord, and it fired right up. Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! The Lord looks out for fools and idiots ya know. Big Grin Fortunately, the battery is new enough that once I turned the lights out and left it alone for awhile, it kicked.

We got 4 1/2 inches of rain.

The parade down the driveway begins tomorrow. UPS coming tomorrow, Friday, next week, and 2 more times after that. I need to get candy bags made up for them.

A beautiful article, Sharon dear. I'm so glad you are here to write it. We hear your message. Thank you so much.

(I'll have to find my purple eye pictures. I think you look way prettier than I did.)

Thank you for choosing my gazebo picture for this winter thread.

and Hank is having the guiltys for being down at the barn. No worries - I was fine.

Sharon, about your article, I do appreciate you telling us about your symptoms as I have never read those. I've heard about pain in the arm and jaw but not the sandpaper feel. Can you post that article somewhere here on BG for easy access??? Please?

Nap, that purple eye picture is from at least 10 days after the fall. I can't even look at those taken on the first few days.

I had your gazebo picture on the old computer, you sent it to me years ago for Spotlight Words. I was glad to see it again. Those others that were sent this time will also be used here and for Spotlight threads. When I have nothing better to do I'll hook up my old computer and put those pictures I need on a stick. Pictures on a stick. What will they think of next!

I can post it in a thread by itself, I guess, and make it a sticky. Remind me again tonight, please Vic. I need to get out of here and pick up some propel pretty soon. I can't get my meds down without it. *Blush*

The strange feeling is another reason some suggested I write the story. And the location was downright eerie. Whoever heard of something going on in the right inside part of a ribcage. But that's what it felt like, a grating, gnawing in a strange place. It's also why I didn't take it seriously when I felt it. It felt a little like indigestion though wrong location for it. I had never heard of it either.
