OK, so it may not be my favorite, but since I recently saw it, it's what popped into mind. It's Swedish with subtitles and be warned: It is loooooong. I was so sleepy before it was over but I couldn't stop watching. The sequel is out now and I'll be going to see it, too.

I don't know how old your daughter is, but this is definitely 'adult' fare. There are scenes I wouldn't necessarily want my 21 y/o GD to view!

LOL She is 21 also. She is away at college so who knows what she watches. She does pop in here from time to time but not real often.

Alma, did you see the newer version of this movie? Any thoughts? We saw the version with Daniel Craig, I liked the movie very much. My daughter read the book and didn't like the movie at all.

Has anyone seen both versions?

I haven't seen it yet; it's on my list of want-to-see. How do you think it compared with the original?

I didn't see the original. I did like this remake. I read that the girl who played Lisbeth went to Sweden a few months before filming to get a feel for the people, the area.. the accent.
