I remember when we were allowed to take a school day to travel across the new 24 mile bridge over Lake Pontchartrain to NOLA to see The Ten Commandments at the Sanger. What a trip fun fun fun. The school bus was full and some were allowed to go in cars. I went in a car with my five best friends. Yes three girls and three boys. We were best buds all through high school. No love matches just friends. Our car got blocked by tourist who had taken a two hour trip on the President and we had to stay behind. We watched the buses pull away before we realized we were blocked. We did a little dance and went off to explore more of the Big City. Crystal burgers remember those. Shopping at a fancy dept store for prom dresses. Checked out the Chin Chilla Coats and the Steinways. Yes we were in trouble for a minute when we got back to school on Monday. But when they found out what happened we were quickly forgiven. Our principal said since we were the upper crust of the school, he knew what we told him was true. The other kids just knew we were gonna be in big trouble. Yeah for being a good kid with good friends. If I would have gotten suspended I really would have been in trouble at home....What an innocent time. Can you imagine kids in NO today. It would be Bourbon street here we come. shirleyt

Everyone I know your age has and does use a computer some way or another.
About half this forum I think is close to to your age or mine.
I need to do some maintenance here and see if I can get more involved.
I so appreciate your posting sweet lady.

I'm from the Class of '58. Is that close enough? I bought my first computer in 1984. I was scared to death of doing something that would wipe out all the data, but it saved my having to hire another employee for my growing business for about a year. Now I could not live productively without my computer.

I have more special memories of junior high school, as we were a close knit group of fewer than 50 before most of us went on to high school and got lost in a sea of 2100 students. When I went back to where I grew up (Salt Lake City, UT) for the 40th and 45th high school reunions, we had a junior high class reunion the night before that was a lot more fun! Sadly, our host of those parties has been diagnosed with ALS, so there was no reunion in 2008.

You are certainly qualified as far as I'm concerned Sally.
I'm sure Shirley will be tickled too.
She will be by soon.
Thanks for checking out my Cubit.
After this Spring all gets planted I promise to devote more time here.

Yes you are definitely close enough. Nice to meet you. I love the computer too got my first one in 2003 and have been hooked ever since. I just play with mine. My husband got me the first and the second as Christmas presents. He thought it was time for a new one in 2009. My old one was so full of pictures it was wobbling lol. He loved to play too and thought it was moving too slow. I am off to check out your cottage gardening thread . That is my kind of fun. shirleyt... Hey sidney hope all is well
