I found some bird sounds! Poor Winston the cat looked around at first when I played the Tawny Owl, then at the computer but the Green Woodpecker had him looking out the window! Hilarious! He will have heard both as they are here.

I agree! Animals can be as intelligent as humans, in some cases though also as stupid! Rolling my eyes.

Very interesting, Janet! Thanks for the links! Smiling

Will tyr to notice differences in calls. Very interesting comments Myriam and Janet. The only differences I noticed was the way they look sometimes. For example this robing I call the 'tousled robin' is different from the ifirst one posted and easy to recognise. I am trying to recoknize the lizards too as some have some spots some others dont have and to learn about their habits. A robi is always at the same place on the surrounding wall every morning and every afternoon. Not an inch aside. Always on the same place. Very funny.
Here is my touslet robing. The poor one does not seem to have time to wash itself in the morning..

Oh poor little Robin, my heart goes out to him!

Robins are very territorial, the males will fight to the death so he might have been beaten up but seems to be standing 'his' ground. Mind you, when I had a very friendly Robin which didn't mind me being near him he would stand like that listening to the ground, then pounce on his dinner so that's what he will be doing when you took the photos C! Hilarious!

Siskin came to mind C, I searched the bird site and found Eurasian Siskin, Carduelis spinus which it might be..

Yes I would think you have a male and female, the bolder coloured one is usually the male.
