Thank you Janett. This one was not running around as many others spiders. She was staying still on the leaves of erigeron karvankianus.

These often sit on leaves C, maybe waiting for an unsuspecting insect to land nearby!

I had to check out Erigeron karvinskianus, it's a very nice plant to have!

Yes it is an ant C, I'll see if I can find it. With such an interesting abdomen that might not be too difficult as I have a French ant site. Big Grin

What a sweet looking ant it is too, it casts a big shadow!

Wondering was it was alone as most of the time I though they were many together. Weird isn't?
Here belowis anther bug. I was wondering if it was dead or alive, touched it with a straw, put it on the back and when I came back to check if it has moved were disappeared.

Once more I cannot tell if it is a caterpillar. It is not in my opinion but cannot tell what this can be...

It's a glow worm larva C! I haven't seen them but I recognise it, I've come across these before. It looks like this one, Lampyris noctiluca ..

I still haven't looked for the ant.

Thank you Janet. I will take a good care of this one now and will not forget what it is. No hurry for the ant. Thank you again for looking up and IDhelp.

I can't be sure about the ant C, but after looking at them all I think the most likely is Lasius emarginatus. It is Lasius I feel sure, and other Lasius species don't come as close as far as I can see. I think it's a worker.

Thank you Janet. I was wondering why I could not find beautiful links as you do. I should not have thought about 'Antbase' for a French website!

Lol, the gardener's friend C. You might call it a slippery character! Hilarious!

I have moles eating mine! Grumbling They are safe when they live in the bottoms of pots, I think they are clever!

I think this is Lumbricus terrestris..

Thank you Janet. I think there is 'one' mole in the garden, very recent, from two years ago and I am wonderning how a mple can arrive in a garden in tow. Hope yours will find another place to go!

That is the cutest ant I have ever seen, Clusiana! Smiling

I have no moles in the garden, the only enemy my worms have to fear are the blackbirds, and more so in spring when the baby blackbirds are being fed.

Interesting to see a picture of a glow worm too!

Hello Myriam. Blackbirds are very clever to get worms for sure. I still not understand how this ant was inside a house by itself!

Moles come out of the ground and go where they please C, when it's been so dry as it has this year you don't see them as the worms go deeper where the moisture is but if there's a damp area around a garden bed as there often is with grass at the edges they will work their way around the edge of a bed! I often find when I have put a potted plant in the ground which has lots of my compost in and worms living in it, the moles don't take long to find them!

Ants can get in all sorts of places, I sometimes find one near my computer. I know there's some serious mining going on under the foundations by the south wall, I had lots of soil suddenly appearing at the bottom of my stairs which is by the door on the south wall. After cleaning it up a surprising amount of soil would quickly appear again, there was some narrow gaps at the sides of the bottom step so the ants must have been coming through those! It got sealed up and the problem was solved, so I guess the ants had to go further to deposit their soil! I wonder when I see one by the computer if they have gone all the way under the living room floor which has a concrete base, then up the side of the fire place! It's possible I get one on my clothing and bring it inside where I sit. Hilarious!

Maybe she was looking for places to lay her eggs C! Or maybe she was waiting for her man and he stood her up. Hilarious! Nice that you were entertained by her.
