May I have some help please? Is that a crab spider? It is not a Misumena vatia right? These are full size pictures but I can crop if you wish to have a better look... Thanks.
Got a new one Janet! OK I agree pictures are not great at all but too difficult for me. This one is very very tiny.Hope you will be able to ID from such a poor information (as I have no idea at all). Today when taking pics of the irises.
Thank you and sorry Janet. I am sure I show you this one before being in the well...You remind it to me in mentioning the water! I have to check this out. Too hot here. Certainly a short circuit in the neurones
I think you might have posted one like it before C, but it's very difficult to remember what you have seen before when you are not familiar with them. Don't worry about it, learning about insects is a very long process and can be very confusing.
It's been very hot here too! Before this heat it was still almost like winter!
Exactly same here Janet! If I may ask here what are your Rosa Canina and your Erigeron karvankianus doing? Here they are blooming but plants does not like this crazy weather either, even the insects behave differently!
The roses are doing well C. The Erigeron karvankianus is growing but very slow, I think our northerly position would make it later than yours apart from it still being winter until the last few days. I hope to get flowers this year but maybe it needs to establish first.
We had a lot of rain after a very long period of drought, so even with the heat the plants are coping but some droop when if full sun. Geraniums don't like the heat, they do recover once in shade though.
Wow! That's a lot of bees C! I wonder where they went to for the winter! It's so good to see a swarm like this living in their place of choice and not in a bee hive, hindered by man. I would love to see such a sight!
Yes I am very happy and I agree with you and wondering the same about where they spent the winter!
Doing as much noise as an aeroplane when they arrive. Very impressive.
Yes Bonitin! I am really amazed. All the bees were entering a little hole and nobody can imagine how many they are now. Sheltered...and protected (by me) from these horrible asiatic hornets!
Two crioceeris lilii inside a petal of lillym henryi. I thought that they were only on the leaves but they are also on the flower! Everyday learning with the bugs.
They chose a very nice setting C, very nice shots. They look to be eating holes in the flower! I can see a hole underneath the one on the right, which could be a male as the one on the left is more plump. I bet they have been up to no good producing more lily beetles!
Are those bumps under the petal papillae, or are they eggs? They look a little too smooth to be papillae, if eggs it looks like they have hatched or are about to hatch.
These are petal papillae Janet. They are different for sure. I have been said that the eggs were only on the leaves and looking like a sticky black material. I did not see any eggs but your know that I am not the best for this kind of things. I just feel like being blind.
Something about the glow worms. Do you know that they are statying almost exactly in the same place and moving forward very slowly?
Photography & appreciation of all living insects or invertebrates including frogs, bees, butterflies and moths etc. many of which can be found in your garden or pond.
