| I have lots of cardinals, I'll try to get you one of the boys, Go get a drink. I've had this fountain for years couldn't really enjoy it til I've retired. You should see the squirrels jumping up on it. Will clean my window and see if I can get you a good picture. I did get a good picture of my little frog I found this morning. ![]() It was there this afternoon. It must like it there. Hope it doesn't hit the ground or Abigail will kill it. Birds just like water it doesn't make any difference what the container is... |

| Your frog is gorgeous, he looks as if he's lying on a blanket! So comfy! That's where i should be, lying on a blanket... Night night. XXX PS: There are pics of Foxy and the dustbin lids on our other thread... |

| What a lovely cute little frog! He looks so contented! |
| He's a friendly looking frog Charleen, you got a great shot this time! I thought he looked like a Gray tree frog (American spelling as it's your frog http://www.savethefrogs.com/gallery/v/Charles Scott/Gray Tre... http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Hyla versicolor&um=1&ie=UTF... |

| Great, Maybe we will see some more frogs!!! I will get you a toad, hopefully my camera will be near when I see it. they are fascinating too. Thank you Janet. When i first saw him/her, it looked like a lump of moist wet clay. It is God's frog, just on my plant. |
| I guess it's moist wet clay look is for camouflage when it goes to "moist wet clay" for a drink, minerals or just a good soak! I hope you get your toad, they are friendly and fascinating I agree. |

| I found this. It's very interesting and you may be able to sex your frog, Charleen. According to the wiki article, gray treefrogs don't normally come down from the tree canopy except to breed, so maybe you have more than one frog in that part of the garden... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gray_tree_frog I've only seen one frog since I got my camera. It was on the verandah last year, 10th August, at about 9-30pm. Maybe there will be more this year as the drought has broken. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Squeak later! |

| We've all been online at the same time again... I like toads too! I hope you get it, Charleen! Peter has found toads in my garden on a couple of occasions. I know I took some shots, but it was hiding in the undergrowth and they didn't come out well. I might be able to salvage them in Gimp. I'll have a look later. I went to pick some chives in the back garden this morning. I took my camera, but it's SO WINDY today. There's hardly anything about, apart from spiders, but the plants are thrashing about so much it's difficult to focus. I may have one... I also rescued a hoverfly from drowning in the pool at the leaf junction on a teasel. It was blown in there right in front of me... I was trying to photograph it at the time. I bet the poor little dear couldn't believe its luck when a warm finger plunged into the pool and hoiked it out. Squeak later... much later this time! |

| How funny that is Ginks, your frog must have been lonely. I wonder if it was looking for a place to lay eggs, the tummy looks big and bulging! Interesting reading on the Wiki link about the Gray tree frog. |

| She probably left them in that little bit of water. There is a little toad that I found in one of my flowerpots in the soil I wanted to use. last I saw it was in a pot with tree. I just didn't think to get a picture. Bet I had dirty fingers... They lay eggs in buckets, cans anything that holds water. I will get you tadpole pictures. I know I have them. Will change into frog hunting clothes, just got in from church, don't want to get these clothes too awful.... That frog did look fluffy didn't it? Probably laid eggs in my fertilizer water.... |
| I want to see you in your frog hunting clothes Charleen, I'm trying hard to imagine what they look like. Jungle hat, I don't think you need the mosquito net, khaki trousers and shirt with wellies and camera in hand. Oh, but if your husband is going to take the photo you won't have the camera! |
A pair of Flip flops, shorts with pockets(got to have a place to carry my camera) Tanktop and away i go!!!! Here Froggie, Froggie.... ![]() Tad poles!!!!! She is down center and to the right....Oblong blob!!! |
| It must be hot where you are! I can see the spider blob, nice clear shots of the taddies! They must be eating the green stuff on the edges, you can watch them develop and keep taking photos! |
| Nice shots of the taddies, Charleen. You are lucky to have them. That second shot is very artistic with the reflections of the trees as well as the taddies. We have a picture of you in your frog-hunting gear, don't we? Abigail is in the picture with you... I don't think my frog laid any eggs. It was August. I think they only lay eggs in the spring??? Frogs always try to return to the place they were born, don't they? I don't have a pond, but always used to have lots of frogs that I assume came up from the stream. After a shower of rain in the summer, I used to see the frogs leaping across the grass, great fun to watch! Do you remember our last very hot summer, Janet? The one when Mars was at its closest to the earth? I'd sit on the verandah in the evening, the only time when it was cool enough to do so, watch out for Mars, and keep the frogs company. There were so many of them! They'd pile into the birdbaths (my dog's old bowls) and I once counted eight in one bowl... Amazing. |

| Frogs do lay in the spring Ginks, around late March I think. I'm not sure if they return to the place they were born, maybe they hang around the same area after they leave the water anyway. Yes I remember that lovely hot weather last year, still waiting for it this year. I haven't seen any of the tadpoles which hatched in my pond this spring, I wonder how long they take to become land dwellers. I have seem them before still with a tail, that was before I had a pond but frogs have always been in my garden. |

| I'm still working on that designer muzzle... for the chook... so she can't eat ALL your bugs, Charleen! I think I'll call it a "chuzzle." Yeah... guess what... no carer, no Art Class. I haven't had a carer since Friday morning. I'm supposed to have one twice a day. Social Care in this country is a DISGRACE! On the upside, I've had the dubious honour of being pooed on by a big weevil this morning... Maybe that's my "silver lining" for the day... |
| Oh, My Goodness, what an honor!!!! What a special weevil. Yes, A chuzzle would work for Abigail.... |

| Love the tree frog Charleen! |
