Cross posted from AllThingsPlants: I have this Agave that I originally bought as a 'normal' Agave plant, growing on the ground. It has started to form a stem like a tree trunk. The foliage is variegated, has a sharp tip, and is fibrous like most Agaves. It is now about 8 ft tall. Does anyone know what it is? Thanks for any help! ![]()

I've been told it is a Yucca rather than an Agave. Now to find out WHICH Yucca. Any ideas?

This would appear to be it, the trunk is indeed starting to get bulbous at the bottom. Yucca elephantipes (variegated) Thanks!
