| Welcome to the 2010 season of celebrating Christmas together ~~~our first Christmas together on cubits! | We usually MIL staying with us for Thanksgiving so I leave the Thanksgiving stuff up until Thanksgiving weekend is over, than I start putting up the Christmas stuff. Take a walk with me at https://www.facebook.com/WildflowersSoCal |

| I don't decorate like I used to. The last couple years of my DH's life he was diagnosed with a mild form of dementia. He became very suspicious of everything and everybody and he thought decorating for Christmas was frivolous so I got rid of my beautiful silk 7 foot Christmas tree--gave it to a newly divorced young mother who had no tree which makes me happy to know that she was able to decorate her home. I kept most of my ornaments and also my ceramic Christmas tree that had belonged to my mother. I put the ceramic tree on the dining table each year and also hang a decorative wreath on the front porch but that is about all the decorating I do. I have spent the last two Christmases at my daughter's so I help her decorate her house. Decorating the tree has always been fun for me since I was a little girl! Here is a photo of the ceramic tree. The wall hanging stays on the wall year 'round.  This is the tree at my daughter's house. It is in their dining room.  this is the mantle at my daughter's house. The little tree to the right is the one she calls her "Charlie Brown" tree.   |

| Truthfully, this year is not going to be my normal heavy duty decorating because we have a puppy living here that thinks the world is her playground. She leaves in January with my daughter but my big tree is not going up. This dog jumps baby gates and loves to attack anything that looks like a ball (hence the Christmas ornaments) I'm going to put up my wreath and smaller table top tree that she won't attack but just in case, I may not add my treasured ornaments. Maybe I'll add a tree to my bedroom for those. What are your plans? | Oh, this will be so fun! I try to go and get the tree right after Thanksgiving! I was in the stores this p ast week-end, and it is sad, that they don't have much out for lights yet! I think this years colors will be red and silver! I try to do a different color tree so it is not the same color every year. We get a real tree, and put it out on the back patio, as we have a small house, and no room inside for a big tree. |

| We will be in Fla for Christmas. We have just a small tree there. I hope to make some beaded ornaments this year. Haven't made any for a long time. And right now I am working on an ornament made with paper clay and paper ornaments. |

| This is a wonderful thread, maybe it will get me in the spirit. I haven't had a big tree for many years, but a small one sits on top of my bookcase. Don't know just when I will put it up, probably the first part of Dec. Mau, I love that wall hanging and it would stay up on my wall all year round too. Keep pictures coming to get me going. Life is fragile, handle with prayer. |

| Becky, not only am I Becky (aka Boo) but my one and only son's name is Matt!!! Fun! I wasn't in the mood at all and here this is my cubit and now I too am feeling a little more eager. It's been a tough year financially for so many of us and we need this time to celebrate! You are right about that, Becky. It has been a tough year financially. I won't be buying any new decorations but I will be getting out some that I have had for years and just not used the past few years due to Buddy's illness. When I get my laptop back (still using my daughter's and my photos are not on her computer), I will post some photos of Christmases past that show some of the decorations I have used. Although I have given away many of my decorations, I still have enough to do whatever decorating I might want to do this year. I will be at my daughter's house for Christmas so I won't be doing a lot of decorating but it will be fun to brighten things up somewhat with a few decorations.  |

| I am soooo excited! Just returned from our local GW with my daughter & granddaughter. My daughter has been looking for a nice Nativity set. We found a BEAUTIFUL set for $5 with the original tag on the box for $79.99 from The Christmas Store. I got two Fitz & Floyd Santa serving trays for $5 & $3.50. I had been looking at them on the F&F site, and loved them. They will be beautiful additions to our hor de'vours buffet for our annual Christmas open house.  your tray is wonderful! F & F is my favorite Christmas Dish provider...lol. Your Goodwill is way better priced than ours in Phoenix. Here they mark things way too high.
