| I'm home. Too noisy with the illegal fire crackers on the street, especially in the evening when it is lit from one end to the other end of the street/block. The police come when the smoke is cleared. Many times I have had to close the windows and then turn on the fan afterwards. I dread this holiday now. Pause for Paws. |

| Ivy like you I am having to put up with firecrackers going off all times of the night, it sounds just like gunfire, I will be glad when the time is over. |

| I talk to my kitty during that time and if she lets me which is not too often, I will hold a blanket over her ears. What I hear in this area is larger than firecrackers. Sometimes you can hear someones window breaking because of the blast. The young ones have guns etc so I get to hear the shells bouncing off of the metal fire escape steps, then I move to the bathroom and close the door and wait it out. Pause for Paws. |

| That is a terrible way to live even if it is just for a few days at the worst! I am soaking wet. Was getting a sprinkler going and it didn't want to work right. So instead of running back and forth turning it on and off. I'm soaked. Helped keep the deer flies away. Have my hat decorated with an old fashioned fly tape. Works catches them and the ones brave enough to try to bite me get a swat if I can hit them! Watering the one behind this one.  |

| Thanks Adina! I am hiding and playing today. One of my doggies, Betsy, is scared to death of all the noise. Jack has no clue since he is deaf. Not too many firecrackers on my street but the city has the big on tonight about 5 blocks from our house. They shoot them off out on the Bay to help against fires and also easy for people to see. I can see most of the show from my front yard, less and less each year as the trees grow taller. Since my son moved away and was to old for it, I quit going down there, too much traffic and people for me. Hi wren, get your new camera yet? We need pictures! Ivy, that would drive me crazy in the city where they don't follow the rules and even break windows, use guns....yikes. Hope your kitty cooperates tonight, if she only knew it would help her feel safe. You stay safe too, hide in the bathroom if you have too! Crazy people, not all kids I am sure. Ves has to work! boo hoo but your gardens are looking mighty fine! I hate those deer flies too, they really make me swell up and hurt. Good idea on the hat. Bet your store is busy today! More pics of your flowers, veggies please, and of course Ty....he is so handsome! Talk with people around the world. Visit Carpe diem and seize the day! | Weeds still a week before I can order it. But over on the Playpen of Graphics cubit we are going to start a forum about taking pictures, we will want to have everyone to take part as we learn from each other. Still working out how to do it all. One thing we have floated is a thread where people post pictures and we talk about about them-how to make a good picture into a great picture. |

| We stayed home! Quiet here, no fireworks. Sat on the porch a while and enjoyed a glass of wine and the breeze. Can't beat country living! I'd hate to live in a city! Any city. We looked for the Boston Pops concert or something similiar on tv, couldn't find it, probably because we just buy basic service. It seems like we pay more and get less all the time. Our power was out for about an hour this evening, no idea why. That's the second time this week. Maybe somebody hit a power pole. Strawberry festival or non festival sounds good to me. I'm at the office, working 2 shifts and will have a day off tomorrow! The tomatoes are waiting for me to remove the suckers. I have huge 'maters this year! |

| the strawberry festival turned out to be bust. on friday and saturday they had very nice events. the day started with volleyball tournament and then there a a 5k race followed by a bbq chicken dinner (9 dollars) . we were busy saturday so we di not see any of these events but we looked forwad to the festival. deb brough the makings for he strawberry shortcake recipe so all we needfed wasthe strawberries, turned out they were not selling strawberries but were instead selling strawberry shortcakes for $4.50 but there was no where to sit down so we sent to the local spermakret andp icked up the strawberries and sme black berries anddeb made the shortcakes at home. Ava had her first swim lesson on saturday. she is now a minnow and will swim her way to shark. here i am in the pool with daddy   all that swimming got me hungry so lets go eat. i think i am having my vegetable medley mommy said this will make me strong  time to get the 4th going  hey Nicholas, i got the keys to the car. lets go to the drive in  this is my whatcha doing big boy stare Nicholas  got a new outfit for the strawberry festival  grandpa loves taking pictures of me. have a nice week visit http://www.cookfromtheheart.com frank I'm so old that when I was born the Dead Sea wasn't even sick. |
