Hi. It's already March and I am helping my neighbors with lambing. We might be just past half of them. The weather has been mostly good for this time of year. In the garden I see a few of the regular size garlic coming up. That is all that is showing signs of life so far. On the south and west sides of the house a few tulips and daffodills broke ground about 2 weeks ago. I've been making jam and jelly from frozen fruit and juice that have been taking up space in my freezer. It sure makes the house smell good on a wintery day!

Tell us about the game you and Nicholas were playing in that last picture and about what you were making with his help. What are the yellow triangles? I'm guessing they are something sweet.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

Hey, guys! Sorry I've been away for so long...just too much happening lately. Andreea,, my DD got married and had the wedding. We had a minor accident and had to go places to get the inssurance papers for getting the car fixed. Then the sewage stopped working and we had to call the workers to fix it too. I also had articles to write and, above all, felt so tired all this time!
I have a nasty back pain which I hope Cici will take care of with a massage... waiting for an appointment!LOL
With all the excitement we've had lately I forgot to tell you the good news : Andreea is having another baby! She's just 2 months now so we don't know what it is.

Mary, good to hear the garlick sproted. Thumbs up The triangles are a chocolate cake filled with custard, chocolate chips and orange zest. The game is Sorcova, a custom we have on New Year's Eve. Check this article I wrote last year :

Sandy, must be beautiful in your garden! Stay well!

The cake sounds wonderful with such a good combination of chocolate and oranges.

Congratulations for the upcoming grandchild. And the wedding! Did she marry the father of Nicholas? Sorry about the accident and your back pain. Is the back pain from the accident? Oh, and you had a septic line problem too. Enough already!

I am finished watching for lambs now even though there are still a few ladies who are waiting and waiting and waiting to have them. About half of the cows have had their calves, and so far only one needed assistance. We pulled a nice bull calf from her and she is being a good mother to it. Thumb of 2013-03-21/MaryE/19f305

Mary, aren't they sweet! Lovey dubby Good news the calfs are all healthy and only one Mom needed you for assistance.
Andreea married the other guy, the jerk, a Romanian named Petre. She seems to be happy and very much in love with him so I'm good with this.
Nothing happened to my back because of the accident. The other car just scratched the right side of my car while the car wasn't moving, so it wasn't any shock or any injuries for any of us in the cars. But my car needs repairs which will be paid by the other driver's inssurance. I think the back ache is from too much sitting while I was working at the office. Maybe the bad weather has something to do with it too. I'm feeling better today and planning to rest as much as I can .

Thanks for the link for the recipe!

I hope that Andreea's marriage is a happy one. You say he is a jerk..... that doesn't sound good to me even if she is all starry eyed now.

Our weather is wintery again. Snow on the ground, and only 21 degrees this morning with wind. Brrrr. Now the sun is shining, melting the snow from roofs and the road. The calendar may say it's spring, but it sure doesn't look that way today. A year ago I was taking the mulch off the garlic shoots. Every year is different.

We have a snowstorm coming toward us too tonight. The school will be closed tomorrow, so I guess it's going to be pretty bad. I hope you won't get any more snow as you've had enough already.
The kids were here this week-end and will be leaving tomorrow if the weather is good. We cooked the fish today Made sour fish soup, BBQ fish and fried fish. It was so good! I also took the car to the car service shop for repairs. They are going to keep it there for a few days, so we had to take the bus for coming back home.
I took some fish on Thursday just to avoid the week-end crowd, especially at the fish store, because everyone in Romania ate fish today. We're celebrating the Good News which the Angel brought to Mary, that she was going to have baby Jesus. We're on the religious fasting period before Easter and on such special ocassions we're allowed to eat fish, but only on this day.
Posting some pics with the raw fish and one with Nicholas.

Have been babysitting Nicholas for the last 3 days!
Above all, I'm having a cold and haven't been feeling very well...had to wear a mask so I won't give it to Nicholas. Of course he wanted one too!LOL But I'm taking antibiotics and I'm much better now. My throat was killing me and yesterday I lost my voice too, but I've got it back today partially thanks to a spray I'm using. Andreea and Petre are coming back today so my shift is over. Hurray!
