How do I change the default for the page layout?

Spacing:

After

is always set at 10pt

So my Word document always look like what I just typed here. It's a pain to have to change it every time I start a new document.

TIA

Arlene

I have an older version of word, but on my version:

Open a new document
Go to "format"
Go to "font"
Pick your font, size, whatever you want to be your default

On the bottom left of that window is a default button. Click the default button and it will save your changes.

Thank you for replying. This is in;

Office 2007

I finally found it. It appears that when we moved up to 2007 the default for line spacing was changed. I can't believe how many
years I've been putting up with that layout and how much time I've wasted fixing it and not knowing how to set it as the default!

I am so happy that I won't be struggling with it anymore. And I learned something new!

Oh gosh, line spacing. I'm glad you found your answer.

I apologize for being so off base, I thought you meant the fonts! Too early, I guess. *Blush*

Well, thank you. Coming here made me put my thinking cap on.

I use Excel for so much and have for so many years. It pays to do some Googling once in a while to clear out the thorns in your side.
