Hi,

I recently ruined the Compatible Parts - motherboard in my toshiba-satellite-l505-gs5035, but do not want to spend the money for a whole new computer.

I found a laptop online for sale with a broken screen, but everything else intact and it is a Toshiba satellite L505D-GS6000. The 2 are almost completely similar and have exactly the same lxwxh measurements and they are designed the same as far as hardware goes (HDD, Optical Drive, battery, etc.)
I was wondering if it is possible to use the bottom half of this broken laptop with my working screen to put together a fully working laptop! Please help me out... thanks!

The actual screen dimension of your present system is 13.6"x7.6". The Toshiba satellite L505D-GS6000 screen dimension is 14"x7.9". Just from a casual search it doesn't look like it would physically work to swap out the monitors. However if the the hinges are the same and mount the same way on the lower-half it may be feasible if one replaces the monitor and upper shell as a unit.
