Has anyone checked on DG? I don't have a membership any longer. I really miss him, he has been gone for a long time. I too hope he is okay.

I just checked again and he posted just a couple of days ago, so at least we know he's ok! Has anyone sent him a C-mail?

I just now sent him a D-mail asking him to check in.

This has gotten me to thinking I may have to renew my DG membership, just for situations like this, much as the thought pains me.

I was relatively new to DG and had only started being active on it last summer. I just don't have time to give to both sites so decided to go with Cubits. I really love the community here, and it's nice that I don't have to pay for a membership.

The Plant Files at DG are an invaluable resource, as are the very knowledgeable people who have chosen to stay with DG. But you have to be so very careful what you say there, that I just don't find it at all comfortable.

I left and I'm not going back. Too much corporate BS and control for my tastes. I'd just like for Al to care for his cubit. It's terrific and it would be nice to see it active.

Hi, Guys
Thanks for thinking about me. I got really busy in the spring, and it seemed like Cubits wasn't really taking off for me, and I was sort of too busy to apply myself to learning all the things that I could do here, so I realize it was probably mostly my fault.

Dave's and GW both are becoming havens for those that hide behind political correctness. It's fine for anyone who wants to, to post tripe or to self-afford themselves opinions w/o the inconvenience of thought or knowledge. When you point to the folly in what's been said, they run to ADMIN with their crocodile tears because someone dared to disagree with them. Thumbs down It really is hard for those looking for knowledge to strain the pearls from the road apples (look it up). ;o) Whenever someone tries to illustrate how wrong someone is, and how damaging certain advice or suggestions are, they get slapped, and it's not going to change any time soon.

I'll probably have more time once I get the gardens put to bed, so I'll try to take better care of the few forums I have. I wrote a new article on tips for dealing with heavy soils I'll try to post soon. Actually, I've been gone so long I need to refamiliarize myself again with how this whole thing works. Rolling my eyes.

Take care, Al

HOO-RAH!! Glad to see you back again, Al! We can all benefit from a knowledgeable teacher and it's nice to have a group that wants to learn. Ummm, I know (firsthand) what "road apples" are. Hilarious!

Hi, guys! Wassup?

I sorta looked upthread for any reference I might have made to an article. but ..... can you help me out?

Things have been peaceful @ Dave's and quiet at Dave's AND GW. I have one person at GW that follows me everywhere & goes out of her way to destroy the harmony of the threads I start by posting information she KNOWS I'll disagree with - you guys know how that game is played. ;o)

I really have to refamiliarize myself with how this site works. I'm SURE I'm not getting everything out of it I could be getting.

And in the end...a happy beginning!
Howdy, Al...

Great to see you here. And yep, still following your words on the other sites as well.

As for Cubits, "I'm SURE I'm not getting everything out of it I could be getting." I think we're all waiting to get more from you! *grin.

Sorry to hear someone is following you and trying to post disagreements w/you...what a bummer. It seems you me you post facts more than opinions so I'm sure you can hold your own against someone like that.

As for us that have followed your advice I'm sure we can verify the validity of it all through our results. Good goin'!

Best,
Shoe

Hurray! Hurray! Oh boy, your back. Just know if that person shows up and makes life unpleasant you can bane them from your Cubit. Big Grin
Here is where you posted a thread for my Cubit. So many have been using your recipe for their succulents. http://cubits.org/sedumandsempervivum/thread/view/8917/
Here is a link to your Cubit info on soils and recipes. Love this thread. http://cubits.org/containergardeningwith/thread/view/1084/
This would be a great thread to turn into an article Al. That would get things going for your Cubit. This is such an important topic your Cubit deals with. Maybe start a database also?
So glad your back, really have missed you.

Al, as you mentioned in a previous message (quoted) Did you write an article on 'dealing with heavy soils'? I know just about everyone with the exception of Floridians would be interested in this one.
