Hi! Since I am new here and don't know everyone, I was hoping we could introduce ourselves and our plants. If you could cut and paste the questions and then answer the ones you choose and add any you find interesting. I will start now, but finish later. I don't have time to list the plants I own.

1.) Nickname: Starsplitter7/Star = Tanja
2.) Where do you live? Tampa, Florida
3.) What zone? 9
4.) How long have you been growing CPs? 4 years
5.) What was your first CP? Many unsuccessful Venus Flytraps, and then a wonderful N. ventrata which I consider my first CP.
6.) What is your favorite type of plant? Sundews
7.) Of your personal plants, which one is your favorite? S. purpurea
8.) What is your most unusual CP? Byblis liniflora and D. indica
9.) What types do you grow? Sarracenia (American pitcher plants), Dorsera (Sundews), Nepenthes (Asian Pitcher Plants), Utricularia (Bladderworts), Pinguicula (Butterworts), Byblis liniflora (Rainbow Plant), Venus Flytrap,

Proto carnivorous: Trigger Plant -- Stylidium debile

10.) A little about yourself: I am an obsessive beginner and have been growing about 4 years. I have no green thumbs, but I am carnivorous compatible. I volunteer as the Carnivorous Plant curator at the USF Botanical Garden and take care of the collection there. I also edit Cobraplant's Ebook on growing carnivorous plants.

11.) Un-CP related bio. I am also a fish keeper with 9 tanks. I also have two ferrets, three cats and three lizards.
11.) Would you be willing to share seeds, plants, . . .? Yes
12.) What do you own? Let me get back to you. I would like for everyone to write down how many and what type of CPs you own. You can use common or scientific names (I will use both). By having a list of plants we own, we know who to ask for advice and trade. :) I need to take a look. I lost so many plants over winter. I don't know what I have anymore.
13.) Anything else? If you would like to see more pictures, add me on facebook.
14.) Favorite CP websites and vendors.
-->My favorite is cobraplants.com Long before I started editing for them, I loved their plants and ordered from them. Easy care sheets. http://cobraplant.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=7&chapter=...
I always wanted to join their plant of the club month. What a treat.
-->International Carnivorous Plant Society https:/icps.clubexpress.com/content.aspx?page_id=0&club_id=203829 I join every year for the fantastic seed bank. Great variety and less expensive than any seeds I find on the web.
California Carnivores http://www.californiacarnivores.com/ Peter D'Amato's nursery. Made my pilgrimage in 2007. WOW!

Want to play my game on CPs? It worked well in the CP forum at DG. I have no idea what I have anymore, so I want to look and take a census.

It did work well. I may just copy and paste. Smiling

I don't have much to trade yet. The one's I did have are traded. I'm finding they are hard to ship, especially sundews. Any suggestions?

I usually trade seeds over distance and plants locally.

Even if it isn't plant intro, I would love it if everyone would introduce themselves. I don't know everyone on here. I will need to look at my plants. I have additions and lots of losses. :(

Hi starsplitter just read your post about everyone introducing themselves. Im donna and mainly grow orchids, paphiopedilums mainly but also have alot of sarracenias and nepenthes, a few dionea's and drosera's. Here on the nth coast of nsw Australia it doesnt really get cold so i can grow alot of plants. I also grow Bamboo, bat plants, herbs, passionfruit, citrus, and a few cacti and succulents.
I usually get a interesting plant, grow it and lose interest and give it away/sell it. Call me impatient! i hate growing plants from seed as it takes to long. hehe!
Nep. stenophylla..

I just stuffed 39 plants into a mini bog. 3 are proto carniovorous -- the rest are all carnivores. They are all small plants. I don't think they are getting enough sun or water.

I got bit with the bug, thanks to Seray and RRM. So I'm just starting out. I tip my hat to you. Nice to meet you.

It has grown RRM! Filling in nicely! I'm gonna have to move mine after this year. Trees are growing too fast and shading my bed too early. I like the tarnocks. Yours look Great! The Love bugs are looking pretty good too! How's your sundews doing? Are they holding up as well as the Sarracenias?

Rained again here. You'll catch me vacuuming the bog in the am. Rolling on the floor laughing I can't keep up this year with the heat and the daily deluge. Maybe I'll have better luck later in the fall. I did get some lilies planted in my Goth garden but that's about it. No more bog plants for me this year. I'm just working to keep the crew Alive!!! Rolling on the floor laughing

My Amorphs like it. Smiling And my lotus. It's starting to green up and put out bigger leaves. Maybe someday I'll get a pic.
