Yea, Jim, and when it multiplies, we'll all be hitting on you for a piece for our bogs. You got a good eye for plants. And from the way you talked about yours as you made it, we'll all be drooling too. Sounds like you got it under control.
Well, it seems the bog is patched, we had a half decent rain and I was able to refill it and it held, I replanted those two flowers (the red and the purple or blue) 10 hour later and the blue one is already growing and shooting green up above the bog. I wonder how much space the water Lilly is going to take up? I'm thinking of putting my tiny V.F.T. in with these guys, but guess I will wait to wee what happens with what I have and what will come in the mail. I'm kind of getting into this bog business. I've been away all day visiting a neighbor who had a stroke then went to see a lady who just moved into some sort of home for demented folks, what a fun day.

Great therapy bog work! Sounds pretty already. A lot of the Sarracenia cultivars are red and I think a blue pickerelweed would look great with them. This is S. Dana's Delight
I spent 8 hours this weekend in my bog, and then two hours at the garden. I hauled water to the garden, because everything was so dry, but then the sky opened up. I carried about 10 gallons about 1/4 mile. I am so tired. I am so grateful for the rain because my rain barrell gave me its last gallon yesterday. The rain filled my barrell and my wheel barrel. I filled up all my containers. I store about 50 gallons of water and most of my stored water was gone too.
Hopefully my plants will survive all the transplanting.
Sounds like a lot of work! This was always the driest time in FL. Restrictions. Hope they all work out and like their new place. We're dry here too. Waiting for rain tomorrow.

This is going to be so much fun!
Donkey poo! Now that is funny!
Mekos, If you WANT to snatch Sarah, you are more than welcome to right now.....tween agers........when she finally gets out of the tomboy stage, I am in big trouble. She has decided that bog gardens are the first step in a goth garden....so don't be surprised when you see what she is designing. (now if I can get her to stop wanting to chase her sisters around with peat covered hands!)
And she is really excited about the plants Seray is sending to add to her VFT that has miraculously survived an entire year on a window sill.
My kinda girl. Goth! Tell her I'm building one and this bog is at the very entrance to it. We'll have to share plants and ideas.
Ya'll come on over to the Bog Showdown forum and start your presentation thread. Here's the link to the Chat thread and that will get you started. We're going to have lots of prizes during this next month so keep watching. They will help fill up your bog.
Julie, you've gotta tell your daughter to watch N.C.I.S. the girl Abby is goth and sleeps in a coffin, is that where your daughter is heading? Hmmm, just thinking, a coffin would make a great bog garden.
