Do we want Frog or a turtle. think I'll do a Turtle for Linda and her Friends. Thumb of 2010-09-15/Ridesredmule/43b30a
Need to have a flat surface, A mold (got it at Michaels in a kit) I needed something tokeep the cement out of the center of the mold so I'musing a dogdish, upside-down. I have already sprayed the turtle mold and dog bowl with cooking spray to keep the concret from sticking. Thumb of 2010-09-15/Ridesredmule/df4173
I use a spatula to mix it in the bowl and to fill the mold with. I used 1 container of concrete, 1 container of surface bonding cement and i scoop of vermiculite. Add enough water to get it all wet, not too dry, not too wet. Thumb of 2010-09-15/Ridesredmule/5dbaf9
Thumb of 2010-09-15/Ridesredmule/ef87f9
i rotate the bowl to be sure it is loose. Later on I will do it again and if firm enough Remove it.
Will take pictures then. If you want a ridge I can put one on. No problem.

Charley Has Gas Problems, we have to be careful what we feed him. Poor Baby was so sick I had to call VET yesterday, You know I was sick!!!!!! Much, much better today.
O.K. Back to the turtle. I'm sort of impatient and I removed the dogfood dish and this is what our turtle looked like. Thumb of 2010-09-15/Ridesredmule/3480d2 when you are filling themold be sure and shake it GENTLT to settle air bubbles. I twisted the dish and removed it.
Beautiful!!! Now the hard part. We have to wait aday or three to see if it set up good. I keep some of DH old t's and got it soppy wet. Laid it very gently around the mold. Leave it st. DON'T pickit up. leave it alone, 3 days. Keep the shirt wet all three days. You can look, just let it set......

It conditions it and makes i get harder. i do it now out of habit. After you put all your work in it you don't want it to fall apart.

Oh, I feel so bad for Charley. Hope he keeps getting better every day. Group hug

Sort of impatient ?? Rolling on the floor laughing I don't remove my mold for at least 24 hours I'm so afraid to break it. Guess I'm just a whimp. Hilarious!

Oh, thanks Charleen for this link. Guess that means I have to go buy a mold, get cement and follow instructions. You are a good teacher.

Tatters I was wondering what a mojito was and now I think I've got it. Sounds refreshing and I'm willing to sample it. Drooling

Should say concret, not cement. Oh well, I'm new at this.............

When you go to Michaels, they will have cement in the package. Then you are on your own. Keep it cleaned out and sprayed when you use it , you will be able to use it many times. I use the cheap stuff spray.

Oh no, we have to keep the party going for three days? My head will be killing me with all the drinks! Maybe some ice tea will work?

I had once years ago planned on tackling molds for stepping stones, but never got around to doing it. Even got some old pans from the thrift store in different shapes. Ah yes, cheap spray, I notice you got yours at Wal-Mart. They have spray in our 99 cent only stores so that's where I'll get mine. Well, have to make myself a list. Sticking tongue out

Ice tea, a favorite drink and think I should stick to that. Can't confuse myself while trying to create.
