Wow Magga, sure looks like it was a carefully thought out project by one person. Beautiful colors and the theme is carried right through.

Wow! I love that quilt, Magga. I love the contrast of the perfect organization and the outter Crazy Quilt border! It works! Fall colors, too.

ok soooo after going through my "haul" I have some questions. Are needles interchangable? these say singer and one pack just says quilting. Also what about feet? These feet are for a singer, they cant be used on my new machine then right?

Misti, it all depends, some needles and feet are interchangeable. Just see if they fit on your machine. Some needles have a flat section, and some don't.

one of my machines has "snap on" feet another has "screw on".

So far I have received wonderful pieces of fabric from Heavenscape and Wildflowers to put in Marti's quilt that I am making. The fabrics were all in beautiful shades of pink. You ladies may not have heard but she has been diagnosed with bi-lateral breast cancer. Marti is also my sister in life. I photo-shopped this jpg to show how I might construct her quilt just as soon as I have all the fabric needed and being donated.

I hope she will like it when it is finished. I plan to put a note on it so she knows how much the SOTH helped in its creation.

If anyone wishes to send her a card c-mail me and I will give you her address in California.

Dorothy, are you collecting any kinds of pinks?? and do you have any idea on sizes?? I have many pieces, but some are not very big....would love to add some "thunder hugs" Whistling to your quilt for Marti. are you also including purples?? the "survivor" color ??

that is going to be beautiful I tip my hat to you.

as far as size goes I was looking to at least 1/2 yd of pinks whether solid or prints. Had not thought of purple but was going to make the quilt something like this: Thumb of 2012-05-04/LaVonne/cad4b5 so a nice purple or raspberry would work in nicely.
So far the material I have received has been wonderful...I have gotten a deep mauve with little white hearts, a musk rose with little white flowers and a pretty baby pink with pink roses and little white 5 petal flowers.
Some solid pinks, any shade, would be a good contrast. I have the fabric for the ribbon and the middle square. The middle square is 18x18 and the other squares will be 9x9 the borders will be 2" finished and so far I have not determined the back. The batting will be 2" I think.

*Magga, love that quilt you posted--- the borders just seem to match your center Tree just perfectly! Rolling my eyes. Looks like everyone in your group spent lots of time sewing---was all that Applique hand-sewn or machine?--- it really is splendid!
*Dorothy, I don't hardly have any pinks, except for a few small pieces of pink prints... This pattern looks like it needs larger swatches of one shade?? I could go buy a yard or 2 of one shade of solid pink if you need it?... Oh, like Thunder asked, are you using Purple?--- this quilt pic looks like Pink & Purple on my screen... Just wonderin'! Whistling
Even tho this quilt looks like solid colors, have you thought about using some soft pink prints of flowers or hearts?, like, in some of those triangles near the border?? That might work, esp. If you get donations of small printed pinks..?? Let us know! Group hug
