This time we will be making a disappearing 9 patch quilt block. Make your block with black and white fabrics, black on white, or white on black, with a splash of color for contrast. It can be green, red, purple, yellow, color choice is yours.
If no one else speaks up, mail me the blocks, and I will put them together.
Mail them no later than the end of March. That will give you all 3 months to make this easy block. I will then ask for volunteers to find someone to donate it too, or I can take it to our hospital, and find someone there to donate it too!

Start with 4 & 3/4 inch blocks to make your 9 patch. Please make the center block the splash of color, that will help keep it uniform. Turn two opposite corners 180 degree's, (top right, and bottom left) and sew them back together.

This should give you a 12 &3/4 inch finished block. If I goofed on the math, someone correct me please? If they are a little big, I will trim them to fit when I get them. Make sure your seams are 1/4 inch. If you have bigger seams, the block will be smaller. Also make sure your fabric is 100% cotton. As synthetic's will shrink at a different rate than cotton. Also, please don't add any other embellishments, as they can't be put through the washer and dryer when finished.
Video, to show you how to make the 9 patch.

They are quick and easy Susan. I've made several quilts with them. The variety is amazing, hard to believe how many different looks you can get just by the way they are put together.

Lord Jesus, He's all I need.
I'm in for 2, too..

On DG a couple years back, to celebrate Critterologist's new baby Joyanna.. .we surprised her with a baby quilt.
We made D9P blocks, in shades of pink (Yes I made one) and turned them over to Mittsy, who cut them up and rearranged them. Turned out pretty.

I am in for 2 blocks. I have never done this block before so this is a good time to learn.

Linda I like the photos of the quilts that you posted. I just wonder if we should all arrange the black and white fabrics in a certain way or maybe we should all arrange them the same way. I´m still a little puzzled Confused Angel
