Random ThoughtsBy knoxred (knoxred) on May 30, 2010
|During the day Tuesday, I had braced myself. I knew it was going to be an emotional time, filled with hope, dispair, disappointment, and plenty of unanswered questions. Of course, I was thinking of the final episode of Lost at the time!|
When the news about Cubits broke, I had many of these same emotions, and a deep sense of regret that I hadn't explored all of what Cubits had to offer. In the early days, it was easy to check out the new cubits as they came online, as we all helped each other set up and answer each others' questions. As time went by, and we focused on growing our own individual cubits, Cubits as a whole exploded with growth around us. There are now over 600 cubits, many of which I haven't had a chance to visit.
As Friday's shutdown deadline approached, I spent quite a bit of time using the Random Cubit feature. It was both a bittersweet montage of memories, and a final chance to appreciate the sheer talent that the Cubits format has unleashed. It was a fantastic way to show just how different Cubits is from any other site, and what a treasure we were losing.
Now that we're back online, it strikes me that the Random Cubit feature is also a great way to introduce the new members to all that Cubits has to offer, and for established members to catch up with what is happening all across the Cubits site.
Click the (Random Cubit?) button at the bottom of your screen and start exploring. You won't be disappointed. We've had enough of that this week!
