Winter is closing in on us here in the North. We finally had a hard frost and the gardens are officially finished for the season. Yesterday it fluffed a few flakes...just a small reminder of what's ahead.

Joke of The Week
Wooden Leg Insurance
A man and his wife moved back home to Newfoundland , from Toronto . The wife had a wooden leg and to insure it in Ontario was $2000.00 a year! When they arrived in Newfoundland , they went to an Insurance agency to see how much it would cost to insure the wooden leg. The agent looked it up on the computer and said to the couple, '$39.00.' The husband was shocked and asked why it was so cheap here in Newfoundland to insure, because it cost him $2000.00 in Ontario ! The agent turned his computer screen to the couple and said, 'Well, here it is on the screen, it says: *Any wooden structure, with a sprinkler system over it, is $39.00.*
I always did find the Newfoundland Logic far superior to most others.

New Feature
To quote our very own Dave, because he can say it better than anybody:)
"If you have a Facebook account, we have a new tool that will let you conveniently share links to your favorite articles with anybody who visits your facebook profile. Next time you are looking at an article, scroll to the bottom of the article and you'll see a little Facebook icon that says, "Like" with a thumbs-up. Click on that and it'll automatically post to your Facebook wall a link to the article. It's a great way to bring more visitors into your own articles and those other articles that you like."

Deer season is in full swing up here. The dogs can't stand the lound bangs reverberating through the woods. They cringe and just want to run right back inside. Smart dogs!
I just want to take a moment and remind all of you, especially those of you who like to take walks, to be sure you can be seen! Blaze orange is my colour of choice...hat and coat. We don't want to lose anyody to a careless hunter...never assume that they all identify their target properly before pulling the trigger.
See you around the Universe! |
