Cubits 'n Bytes

I'm baaaack! You knew you hadn't heard the last of me, didn't you? This is going to be a kinda, sorta, bi-weekly peek into what's happening around the Cubits Universe...some new stuff, some old stuff and anything else I can think of. Grab your coffee and join me. My own personal take on what's going on or has gone on.

I just can't not write. Sorry Sharon, that's lousy sentence structure, but true nonetheless. Oh, and by the way Sharon, since I've got your attention, when are the writers going to start another write-robin story?? tap, tap, tap :))

Universal Photo Contest Cubit

New Features!!

Our resident programing Guru, Dave, has been busy this past week. The first fabulous feature is the new, official, Cubits Newsletter! To sign up for it go to the "Your Account" tab up there at the top of the page. Click on the "preferences" tab and the second choice is "receive the Cubits.org weekly newsletter". I highly suggest that you choose yes. It's chock full of cool Cubits statistics, the most recently published articles, news and contests, and recently added Cubits. You will not be disappointed.

Our second funtastic new feature is the listing of the most recently created or updated threads. This feature is right on your home page where the Newsletter used to be. This is a Cubit-wide feature...check it out, you just might find a topic that interests you, or better yet, you might find a Cubit that interests you that you never even knew existed!

Jigsaw Puzzles

       Remember to add your photos to the Database of Free Images. You never know, you might just discover your image is suddenly a jigsaw puzzle!!

This weeks featured database is the Iris Database.They've got over 2000 entries and almost all of them have a photo! Great job everyone in the Iris Cubit!!

Isn't it funny the way life takes you? I mean, I spent an entire year going to college to be a bookkeeper and then I learned that I cannot tolerate an office environment. Who'da thunk it?

So here I am working at a gas station and loving every single minute of it (except when the public toilet gets clogged up).

Sure, I'm not making the money I would as a bookkeeper...but money isn't everything, is it? Finding a job that you enjoy is a rare thing indeed.

I get to meet a new, interesting person every few minutes...some funny, some happy, some drunk, some downright miserable...most are enjoyable and pleasant to deal with. I spend my nights laughing with them, celebrating their job promotions, shedding a tear with them over a recently deceased loved one. A few regulars will even surprise me on occasion by bringing me a coffee from my favourite coffee shop.

I love making them smile. I'm not at all afraid to tell a customer that I love her new haircut, or ask where she found that fabulous coat, or bracelet. I can talk trucks with the men. I do refrain from mentioning the many seriously cute male behinds that pass by me, but I have huge windows to admire them from :))

Some people would consider a gas station attendant job among the lowliest of the low. Me? I consider myself very lucky, and blessed to have found it.
