Something's going on with Firefox and Cubits. I was just reading the Sharon's Friends thread when my screen suddenly shot to the bottom and would not allow me to scroll back up. For about 10 seconds. Then some sort of music and talking happened and on the Cubits tab at the top of the page a "volume" indicator appeared. I switched to Chrome now and it's not happening here.
I keep 4 or 5 tabs open on Firefox and it doesn't happen on any of the others. (Yahoo, Verizon, Accuweather and a local business.) What do you think?
I do have ad block. But it didn't sound like an ad. And when I reduced Firefox to the bottom of the screen, the music was still there.
Really, Christine? So it's not just my computer. How odd!
My other computer had issues after my kid started watching Pokemon on Youtube, but that was different. New windows would open up out of the blue. Once I saw 6 windows were opened at once, and he didn't do anything to cause it. He's no longer allowed to watch Pokemon.
Yes, Nap, it did happen to me yesterday morning as soon as I clicked on Cubits. BUT, I was on Google Chrome, not Firefox.
On another note for this morning!~
This morning when I turned my computer on, there was a little pop-up saying something about some "key" was hit with an "OKAY" block for me to click on. I didn't click on it and turned my computer back off. When I turned it back on, I saw a quick flash of something being uploaded on my computer... too fast to see what it was. When my malware program did it's auto scan, there was one threat detected and removed.
Not saying they are related, just announced that it happened.
There is a black ad that comes up at the bottom of my screen and causes the screen to jump down there and I have to delete the ad and then scroll back to read what you guys have written. I think I have that turned off now. If you have that ad, click on X in the upper left corner of the ad to make the ad go away, then on the right in the ad area, there is a triangle or V. Click on that, then click on something in the next screen (I forget what it was, but it will be obvious), then click the 'off button' when that comes up.
I wonder what the ad was? It still hasn't happened again, but now (just this afternoon) Firefox keeps giving that "Not Responding" message and everything freezes and the screen gets like white-ish. I was typing something and didn't notice it was happening so my sentences had a bunch of skipped spots. Nothing made sense.
Thanks for the info, Vic. If it happens again I'll try that.
Cubits is the only place I have problems. Also, I get freezes and oodles of lost connection and it only on cubits. I know it not my computer as old faithful finally went to the scrap yard and have a new/used one.
I never had problems til the switch over from ATP to National Gardening. Since then it been a hassle to try and get on and even make sure posts gets posted. I want to add to my databases and can't if site gonna freeze on me every few minutes.
