Thanks Shannon, the last seedling in the group is one of my best new seedlings, it opens without hagging very important trait for flowers with large ruffles.

Genna, it is never easy to choose a seedling for introduction, many have good plant habit, and nice bloom, but short scape, so it is up to the hybridizer to determin if the seedling with a pretty face, and good plant habit is worth putting with a daylily with a taller scape, this can take a lot of time. I put some seedlings in my sale that have a nice face and are good for the garden but may not fit my program, or may not be and easy pod parent.

Thanks Dan, It has been a while since I have heard from you, I hope all is well, and your daylilies are growing.

Genna, sorry I haven't replied ,but we just finished our regional, and I spent the following weekend in Los Angeles, where helped judge a daylily show for a local club there.

It does take a some patients to hybridize, the rewards are great, but they never out weigh the disappointments.

Some double seedlings using DUTCH YELLOW TRUFFLE as the pod parent, all of the scapes on these seedlings are 30+ inches.

I'm not too fond of the doubles, unfortunately, but those are really beautiful, Lyle! And your SPACECOAST IRISH ILLUMINATION X FLORENCE DENNY seedling is absolutely gorgeous! What a beauty!

Thanks Betty! I have more seedlings from SIIX FD that will bloom out this coming spring, the seedling I'm getting from the cross has very large blooms and good bud count.

The double's program is coming along well and I hope to bloom out some toothy ones in the future.

Thanks Julia, It is nice to hear from you again, it has been a while since I have posted but that should change soon

One of my favorite double seedlings from last season...

Susie, your daylilies are coming out of their summer dormancy this is normal for this time of year. I would recommend some Milorganite, this should be good until around February when I usually will add fertilizer as needed..
