I am amazed by what you were able to get your hands on from Freecycle and Craig's List! Love how you recycled those doors! What a job and a half for you and your dh to be doing! I can't even fathom doing something like that at my age. I don't know how old you are, but I read that you had a grandchild? Really?
What kind of glass work do you do? Stained glass?

Big Grin Becky we have 9 grand babies. The oldest in in his first year of collage, the youngest is 9 mons.
I started out wanting to learn to do stained glass ( my great grandfather come to the USA in 1894 from Denmark and opened a stained glass shop) bought out a few people from craigs list and started teaching my self. you can learn most anything on the internet :)
Then I was given a used kiln out of a dentist office I now have 3old kilns . I have gotten off into warm glass lots of recycled bottles, windchimes, cutting boards, pendents, tempered glass, bowels.

Cheryl - 9 grandkids!!!! You don't look old enough to even have one!!! I finally got my first grandchild this past May. I was beginning to think I would never see a grandchild in my lifetime! LOL!

That's a neat history about your great-grandfather! I do believe such talented genes do pass down through generations! That's really neat you are a self-taught glass artist! Are you going to design any stain glass windows for your new home? You'll have to share a few photos of your glass work with all of us here! I'd love to see what your creations look like!

I'd say you are far from novice, that's for sure!!! I can see why you are building a nice sized work shop for yourself and also one for your dh. What does he make?

Oooh! That rose bud turned out very nice! Yes! I agree ... Antoinette is very talented, too, and a wealthy of artistic knowledge and experience! I also agree ... would love to be a fly on the wall in her work shop (which is currently being built as well) to watch her work. I have zero talent. Zip. Nadda. But I can do a really good job at appreciating others talents!

Jon is also quite the carpenter and jack of all trades! My dh has some wood working talent, too. I just design what I want him to build! Hilarious!

Thumb of 2010-09-21/denimangle/04b613

the wood shop does now have lights but still not finished when hes not building shops & houses Big Grin he makes bird houses & feeders, treasure boxes for the granddaughters, frames for my glass, dog houses & feeders Im sure he has a few surprizes for me as he kind of keeps me out of the wood shop. Even tho I had more wood working tools when we meet Rolling on the floor laughing
