I'm a Charley's girl and loving it!
Oh wow, Jon, I guess I slept through some of my history classes. *Blush* I didn't remember that. My sister went to Japan the year the Clemson Tigers played basketball in a bowl game,(many years ago), and she was very excited about all she saw but I just missed all that. I remember her talking about the homes built on land mostly going up a mountain side and stores floating at the waters edge , man it has been a long time, my memory is not what it once was.
Really sorry about all the weird weather conditions bringing so much snow everywhere, it is messed up everywhere.
Do you think this new system coming will effect yall this time?

Jon - Sorry to hear about the loss of lives in Japan from the bad winter freezes.

We've had really weird weather here in Florida the past two years. Early frosts (like Nov. and Dec.) which is just about unheard of, but it's been close to 80s also - which is weird for January. I don't know. Global warming is sure kicking us to the curb these days! I wonder how this crazy weather it going to affect food crops around the world? I have a hunch it's going to pose a challenge. I also see gas prices climbing again here in the USA. And we thought the worst was behind us ... I am not holding my breath!

Y'all stay warm and safe. Cuddle up with your family members or pets to stay warm! (That's what I do! Hilarious! )

Well I have marked almost all the elect outlets for the house and DH has been busy putting up boxes drilling holes & pulling wire.
one more big elect Decision where im going to put the stove .. but first I need to pick out a stove.. I can put it on the wall or in the island . the island can be as big as 5'5"x5'5" I know I want the whole stove with oven not built in wall ovens. im thinking a 36" stove with 1&1/2 ovens just have to makeup mine mind .. Confused Confused Sticking tongue out I have looked at the wolf but not sure I want to cook that much .. it would take a lot of cooking to make paying for it worth the $$$ Whistling
this is making me crazy Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing
anyone have any in put or thoughts on different brands of stoves ?

Here's my take on it ... how often do you plan to be entertaining family holidays and weekend gatherings of family and friends? If often, then go with an oven and stove big enough to support such events or entertaining. If not often, then go smaller. I personally would go larger because I entertain during all the holidays and cook a lot all at once. It would be so nice to have a larger oven and more counter space. During my family gatherings, we do buffet style so everyone comes and gets their food and then sits down to eat at the table or counter.

I also cook the meat on Sundays for the entire week's meals. That way I can just cook the veggies & other side dishes on the stove or microwave. It has cut down on my electric bill substantially to use the oven for several hours one day a week instead of every day. ;-)

Grilled fried boiled or microwaved some folk have little electric toaster ovens. I don't know any Japanese person with a real oven! They don't roast anything.
They have electric rice cookers and broilers but no ovens Blinking Akie likes to bake our own bread and likes roast beef, a legacy of living in England for 6 years. Rolling on the floor laughing

I've heard tea is good for you if you drink the right kind. Brits have their tea time, right?

I love tea, too! I've never cared for coffee or cigarettes.

I've been looking at herb teas. I hear that Rosemary tea (which probably doesn't taste too great), is excellent for the memory! I think I need to start drinking a gallon a day! LOL! I spent several hours today just looking for things I misplaced here at the house! My memory is really bad lately. I hope it is just stress and not alzheimer's disease. When you get older, you start looking for signs like that when you start noticing you are getting forgetful. LOL! I laugh ... but it's really not funny! LOL! Well... maybe it is! I guess it depends on your perspective. Glare

Hi Cheryl, yes these things do seem to go on forever! I'm expecting mine to take around 2 years to build, then there's the garden and wood deck to do and we're planning an extension on the front of the house Big Grin Hang in there girl it'll get done!
