| Cheryl - How big is your home??? It looks huge in the first photo!!! What kind of insulation are they spraying it with? Another Day in Paradise! |
| Becky thats the living room with vaulted ceiling it does look really big at that angle.., its just a tad under 3000 sq ft & that includes my Quilt/craft room & the equipment room for the geo stuff its called open cell insulation seals all the cracks makes it almost air tight we have 6" studs so its 5&1/2" of foam check out my new store Metamorphosis Upcycled/Recycled Glass http://www.facebook.com/MetamorphosisUpcycledRectcledGlass?v... , http://cubits.org/diycomfortheserious/thread/view/35215/#new... |

| Wow! That is awesome that the open cell insulation seals so well! 3000 sq ft is almost twice the size of my house! LOL! Love that wrap-around porch! I can't wait to see it when it is all done! The outside is beautiful! Another Day in Paradise! |

| Did they spray the insulation all of the way up to the roof peak? and under the floors in the crawlspace? That is some great insulation and I am glad that you have it nice and thick! Here at the Army camps in Korea, they have sprayed the outsides of the 1950's style quonset huts with it and painted over it to keep the sun off of it as the foam is photo-reactive. It has made the barracks rooms for senior enlisted and offices(and a couple of the churches) comfortable in winter with the same small heaters as they have always had. DH was here 22 years ago and had things freeze solid in his room and office. My camera is in the states right now with DH or I would take a pic. for you - it really looks odd |
| thanks Becky things should start taking shape now for a while the things that were being done you really couldn't see made it look like we weren't doing anything June it will go up to the roof peak and just before we are ready to move in they will come back and spray the crawspace after all the plumbing lines & wires are finished ill get some more pictures tomorrow . ill bet they do look strange but its good to hear it works check out my new store Metamorphosis Upcycled/Recycled Glass http://www.facebook.com/MetamorphosisUpcycledRectcledGlass?v... , http://cubits.org/diycomfortheserious/thread/view/35215/#new... |

Cheryl, I would think it is because those are metal buildings and the metal would heat up from the sun and cook the inside and be so cold from the winter snows and ice it would be hard to heep heated. ![]() |
| Jan my roof is metal the same kind of metal they make the buildings out of ..& they are spraying in inside ... Jan DH just told me its a different kind of foam that you can even walk on it they use it on job sites check out my new store Metamorphosis Upcycled/Recycled Glass http://www.facebook.com/MetamorphosisUpcycledRectcledGlass?v... , http://cubits.org/diycomfortheserious/thread/view/35215/#new... |

| That insulation is really neat! I bet it seals and keep the temperature controled really well! I love your wooden walls! Are you going to be staining them or just leaving them their natural color? Another Day in Paradise! |
| we are useing different woods all will be natural color. I don't believe in spending money on woods and then staining them to look like a different wood we are useing aspen, blue pine, cedar, maple & white pine check out my new store Metamorphosis Upcycled/Recycled Glass http://www.facebook.com/MetamorphosisUpcycledRectcledGlass?v... , http://cubits.org/diycomfortheserious/thread/view/35215/#new... |
