I know it seems like we haven't finished with winter yet and just getting a start on spring, but while I have it on my mind, it won't be too long before I start ordering seed for my fall plants and for netyears plants.

Believe it or not it only 6 months until the 2010 Piggy Seed Swap. Sheesh time is flying. So as you discover plants and seed that you hoping to have this year, please start posting on here, so I can keep an eye out for some of your wishes.

I was wondering if the piggy swap would be here or the other place....I hope that my baby wintersown seedlings grow up, flower and make lots of seeds to share!

Haves, from this year's garden, saved with my fellow piggies in mind...

Hey Ella:)
Just wondering if we should start a have list separate from the want list. Might make it easier. I am already starting to collect seeds that might need a good home, lol!

Hummmmmmmmmmm. Good question. Ya know I not sure at the moment. I kind a stumped. tryign to think of what I can do... ( eats a coupel of pringles)

The Piggy swap is for anybody who wants to join. The regular piggie s may want it over there. I don't know. But what I can do is make a special group here and call it by the name Piggy swap and those folks who want to participate can go ahead and start listing their have's and links and stuff . Only thos e who want to participate in the swap will be able to see and acess the thread. At least that way when the time is ready it can be copied right off from here and posted over at Dg if that where folks want it held. What ya think of that idea?

I'll ask that you would give a swap a different name then "Piggy". That name has become a self-fulfilled prophesy, with some participants worried about what they can grab and few looking at the want list. I've seen many seeds grab up before the person asking for the seeds has even seen them. How about on this site you have a "Wish List Swap", or some-such name, where we emphasize giving and not receiving?

I got a name..."hog wild"? Or something related, but different. I am a newbie piggy and my wintersown seedlings are still tiny. I didn't realize that they would take so long to grow up. Even with all this heat and watering. The slugs got some, others are waiting to be planted.

I can't see me wanting much for next year... now that i'm working in Wisc, I'm not home much at all -- and really dont get to enjoy my flower beds.

I will collect some seeds -- but i'll be majorly deadheading this year so i dont have so many volunteers.

as for where to have it... it depends on who's hosting as Ella mentioned.

as for a name... how about "Civilized Seed Swap" teehee... just kidding of course... but i do recall how some seeds were snatched up so quickly ... there may have been one or two i missed out on, but not that my garden noticed.

Tcs.. hehehehehe you may be saying that now, but just wait til the lists start up. : )

My membership end s over on Dg in Sept, and not sure what I gonna do yet about it. I so busy here and working on the Secret Garden Forums that will be coming for this cubit that I just don't have time to get over there anymore.

Hhhahahahha " Hog Wild" that a good one cuz we sure ain't little piggies anymore we full grown sows... just plain Hogs Rolling on the floor laughing

Andi.. if a lot of them were perennials they won't really come into their own til next year.

Mao... Maybe having folks put up their want lists first and having them up for a week or so before the have's lists go up? That way folks can go through the wants lists and mark stuff for folks ahead of time cuz I know once the oinking starts and the have lists go up folks to busy to really look at the wants lists.

My subscription on DG ends in Oct, not sure if I will renew. I am spending more time in the garden, trying to get it ready for all the roses I'm bring back from Ohio. If I spend less time on the computer and more time outside I'd probably feel better too.

How about "Hogs Galore". There's a new place to eat at named that . I thought that was a good name.

My subscription on DG runs out on the 21 of this month--I don't know what to do either.

Rolling on the floor laughing " Hogs Galore" That is cute too. I know every year I say I only get ten things and then I end up with lots more. I really need to empty the fridge out of seeds. Of course I will just fill it back up again, but at least it will be filled with something new. LOL

Mao... I been thinking about the problem. Think will make everybody put their wish lists up first for a couple of weeks, then folks can see what they have in their seed stashes and post that they have for wish list, and nobody can join this time, and guess I need to be a meany here, unless they have their wish list up first.

I doubt I will renew over there. I only go to to forums anymore. . Like I said got lots going on here and the sooner I get it all done behind the scene s the sooner I can open the secret Garden Forums and areas.

I gonna hold a seedswap here that for sure. And what will be great is at least this time, I have firefox, so I can load the pages a little faster and maybe push a few other s out of the way to the trough Rolling on the floor laughing

Truth is worth finding
I am watching this thread , just started collecting seeds for 2010 and will need a place to share.
I did not participate in last years swap ( too much going on) but did the two years previously.

As for the other site I have not been there since the temporary shut down of cubits. I hope a way can be found to participate here Smiling

Will be saving seeds of this blackberry lily.
