I have had these same flowers for 3-4 years and they have always been pink , I have even taken cuttings and they have always been pink .
Any ideas are helpful, I am baffled
Thanks
Cinda.
LOL... I hope you like the color yellow as they definitely not pink anymore are they. I wonder if maybe something happened to your original plant, and with the space opened up and right temps and such you had seed that germinated and the hybrid produced this cross when it either selfed or had a friendly pollinator from another plant. Ya have to love Mother Nature. Maybe she decided it was time for a color change and is helping you re-landscape. You still have anymore of your pink at all?

I still have two small pots of cuttings that have not shown their color yet , but the cuttings were taken earlier this year, I gave away the other cuttings , I will have to ask my friend if they have bloomed yet and what color. I told her they were pink , if they turned yellow too she is going to think I am color blind

gardengus,
My granddaughter gave me 3 mum's last year and they where the brunt orange ones okay . One decided to bloom this past spring and it was lavender. Being forgetful ask her when she came over about the color and she said well Granny thats not what I brought to you and I said yep it still in the pot . The other 2 haven't bloomed again so don't know what color will pop up . What I couldn't figure out is it hadn't lost any of the leaves over the winter and was in garage and here comes a different color so am waiting to see when the other 2 bloom what color they are gonna be . But what makes them change I surely don't know either.

I was thinking maybe a soil PH change like hydrangea , but if yours are in pots that shoots down that theory.
Mine are planted near some of my blueberry bushes and they are mulched with pine needles.

gardengus,
I am hoping the other 2 bloom cause she bought them to me in the fall after it bloomed this spring and it was lavender, it died back so waiting to see if it comes back in the fall cause they where bought as a fall bloomer. It will be interesting if it blooms again in the fall and back to the first color, Have not added any other soil other than what it was in did put one in the ground so looking at it each day now got to figure out number three or where I put it' Old timer's hard to deal with. Glad I got some younger ones around to help out.

But your's is still pretty!!
Carolyn
No, I didn't bother replacing them. I put a trellis and some climbing roses in that part of the garden. I started some asters from seed, but they are still tiny. I couldn't help but deadhead a pretty coral mum at the grocery store. I put the seeds in one of my wintersowing containers. I guess that would be fall sowing....It was so much fun, I am starting early!
