A new thread for a new month. It's starting sunny here, but cold. The rain and melt of yesterday are frozen solid. There was water across every road I was on yesterday.

My dad is in the hospital and we will be talking with Hospice today. I may be a little scarce the next while. Neil will be here to help if something comes up that needs doing right away.

Hospice is wonderful.......my MIL had them, but only for 10 days before she passed. They are so kind and caring and a comfort to the rest of the family. Sorry to hear about your dad, Kathleen, but hope that he is at peace and not in pain. Or that it can be controlled. ((())) to you at this time.

Kathleen, I am so sorry about your Dad. It is very hard to lose a parent. My Dad passed when was only 8. I still miss him very much and cannot help but wonder how my life might have been different had he lived longer. You are truly blessed to have had your Dad so long. I will pray for him, you and the family. May God grant you all peace that surpasses all understanding.

Dad died last Wednesday. It was time. He slipped away from us in a fairly peaceful manner. The memorial service was yesterday. I'll probably be a few more days helping Mom to get the things that need done right away taken care of, but will try to be in and out some.

Sympathy to you on your loss, Kathleen. But it sounds like it was peaceful for him. Doesn't make it easier for us, tho. ((())) to you.

Sorry, Kathleen. I know you'll miss him. Prayers for your Mom, too.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

Thank you all. NG, the Hospice program is a wonderful thing. Dad was only in it for a day, but those people made everything so much easier than it could have been. This has been coming for a long time and there's a good deal of sadness, but we all seem to be doing well.

If I learned nothing else working at the hospital it is that there are worse things than death. Death can be a release from pain and suffering both for the patient and the family. But for all that there is still missing them and the grief to bear. My thoughts go out to you, your family and especially your mother. We are never truly ready for a loved one to be gone forever from our earthly lives no matter how long they have been sick.

As my mom said when my dad died, "we don't want him to be gone, but we wouldn't wish him back knowing what he was going through". She was so right.

Dear Kathleen, our sincere condolences for the loss of your father!
He will grow not old, as we that are left grow old.
Age will not weary him, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning.
We will Remember him.

Regards.
Neil & Sarah.

Where the samhill IS everyone? Stuck in the snow? I'm anticipating my NY miking job......leaving on Friday. Job starts Sun. through Wed. night.

Guy we milked for last month called last night and wanted to know "how much do I owe you?" I asked "what was it worth?" He said "$120/day???" I said "done". LOL He went on to say that after he got back he fired the hired guy. Glad he was dependable when we were there. Big Grin
