| These Aquilegias can be a pest as they cross and you get all sorts of colours! Then they seed themselves everywhere, which is another pain in the rear. You cannot give the things away as everyone has the same problem with them! Regards. Neil. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| I wonder whether they would grow in our climate? Porkpal |
| Mine have done a lot of crossing and changing, but I still love them! My climate is difficult for a lot of things, so if it lives through our winters and our hot, dry summers, it is almost certainly welcome. One exception however, is violets. They smother other plants. I tolerate them in the lawn but not in the flower beds. Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most. More ramblings at http://thegatheringplacehome.myfastforum.org/forum54.php |

| My bedding plants I grew from seed are finally doing well. They will be moved and spaced out to grow more, before finally getting planted. Petunias & Geraniums. ![]() Ocean blue petunias and Picotee red ones. ![]() Two different colours of Lobelia. ![]() Regards. Neil. |

| I love the geraniums from seed... What variety? |
| Dear Kathy Jo the Geraniums are called "Black Surprise'. They have really deep black leaves and a vivid red flower, or at least they are supposed to. The lovely colour of Aubretia in flower this afternoon. I needed something to cheer me up after being to the Hospital this morning. Regards. Neil. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| OH, my..........hope it wasn't serious???? |
| Dear Annaz, I hate going up to London and especially to the Hospital that have been redoing my jaw after the Dental school broke it! After having to have all my teeth taken out, they re broke my jaw and set it at the correct angle. Now a year later they are pleased that it is set correctly, so are going to make me some new teeth at last. Hopefully these will be done by September as I am told it is rather complicated. Just getting poked and prodded about a lot is not nice, then of course the essential blood test etc. Nothing serious. Regards. Neil. |
| Oh, "only" broken jaw and no teeth..........*nothing serious*, he says............Good Grief..............Just what DO you consider serious??? |
| Dear Annaz, how about an Armalite 5.56 bullet through my left arm! That hurt a bit, and so did when they put a metal replacement in and metal struts. Blown up three times, glass shrapnel in London was the worst. Coming off my Racing motorcycle at Silverstone Race Track at 140 mph, although I can't remember much about that, till my mother arrived a few days later and said "what have you done now"? Both ankles and legs broken, right arm and my collar bone. that was more than interesting. Just the odd things like a tractor falling on me etc. All part of the rich tapestry of life. Regards. Neil. |

| my goodness Neil.. sounds as if you could write a book... feeling a bit guilty... a few ripe strawberries in the garden didn't make it into the house to share.. I should try to do better tomorrow .... but I mean those first few lovely strawberries.. Kathleen.. I can't tell you how well my rhubarb is doing.. I'm very very happy with it.. I had tried to start for so many years.. MaryE, Remember the iris you sent me years ago.. ? Lovely..I have them planted by the old well.. The iris here are lovely despite the cold rainy weather.. |

| Kathy Jo, were they the old fashioned white ones with a barely blue tint to them? I probably refered to them as my homestead iris. If they are, I know now what their real name is. Yes, Neil, I guess a broken jaw and missing teeth are minor by comparison! I don't think I want to stand too close to you in a lightning storm. Your rich tapestry of life is a little much. This evening we have been watching a pair of Chinese pheasants wandering through the pasture and into the flower bed. We see them nearly every day. Mr P is a polygamist, he has at least 2 wives, but usually we only see him with one at a time. Soon we should be seeing some babies. Hopefully their eggs were well covered when we had snow last night. Yep, our world was white this morning but turned green again about mid day. It's the latest snowfall I can remember. I read in the paper that April was the wetest on record since 1955, and also the coldest. And May has already had a record rainfall, resulting in flood warnings for the Powder River that runs right through town. Sheesh, what a year we are having! Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most. More ramblings at http://thegatheringplacehome.myfastforum.org/forum54.php |

| Ah, Neil..........the "need for speed".............sounds like MY kids, but as of yet, no wipeouts or broken bones. DS#3 has gone 129 on his Harley at the drag strip. But that is a straight stretch...........LOL |
| Dear AnnaZ, I have never been on a drag strip as we only have one Drag strip in this country! Harley's do have big engines in them 1200-1300-1400 cc whereas the two strokes I used to race are 250cc, 350cc and a maximum of 500cc. However when Kenny Roberts your American world champion was Racing at Spa Francochamps (Belgium) in the 500cc Grand Prix he broke the speed record on the straight before you get to the hairpin bend at 212 mph in the wet! The two strokes are very light and very fast, but the engines do not last long! Most of us here learn at an early age on MotoX bikes or Dirt bikes, then go onto to 125cc and work up on the Road or Racing bikes. It is best to learn on the mud first as if you go to a Race/Road track and it rains they do not stop a race in the UK, you Race in the wet no matter what the conditions. Overseas they tend not to Race in the rain, unless it is a Grand Prix or MotoGP as it is called now. Never believe anyone that tells you the straw bales they put on the side of the tracks are there for the safety of the riders. When you hit one of them at 140 mph it hurts! The Ducati 999 I occasionally get to have a ride on now is Race tuned and that does 190+ mph and that is considered slow now as some of the 600 cc bikes can do 180mph straight out of the showroom. Regards. Neil. |

| Neil, you *need* a Hyabusa..............LOLOL |
| What on earth is that? Neil. |
| Fastest motorcyle made..............it's by Suzuki. Google "Hyabusa"....... |
| Neil, I'm not even going to comment. lol, my regards to your long suffering mother! Kathy Jo, our rhubarb looks good this year, but full of seed heads, which I should break out, but as no one here eats it anymore, I guess I'll leave. I like their strange green flowers. There have been times this week, when looking out the window you could see the green shift to a deeper shade. The trees are still in baby leaf state, but the grass is gorgeous. My tulips, all but the very late and the very early, are in full bloom, with the exception of those the voles ate. I found a dead vole out in the yard and was quite pleased. I suppose the death of any of God's creatures should be looked upon as loss, but I just cant' bring myself to mourn the d***able rodents. Ah. well. |

| My last competition is this coming Saturday............and I WILL have a strawberry-rhubarb pie made either Sunday or Monday.......depending on my time. LOL Need to make some kind of bars for a little social after church on Sunday; will do that early Sunday morning so they will be fresh. |

| Dear AnnaZ, now I know what your Hyabusa is! It is not called that over here, it is simply known as the GSXR 1300. That it claims is the fastest production bike with varying speeds claimed for it between 188 194 mph. That would not be allowed on a Race track as it simply would not be able to handle it. It would need lightening,Race wheels and tyres and Race brakes. Then a Race frame and wired up. Am MV Augusta F4 would leave that for dead on a track as it is a Race bike and barely road legal. It would also leave you feeling quite dead as it would cost you about $100,000 for a standard one. To get a fully race kitted one of which there were only 20 made last year would if you could get one cost you millions, can i have one please? In MotoGP they are only allowed 800cc and they can clock 220 mph quite easily, but to be a production bike more than a thousand must be made. As they only make four bikes for MotoGP they are not production so cannot classify for a record on the road, only on the track. A Suzuki RG500 MK8 Grand Prix bike, which is a two stroke would also leave the GSX wallowing in the distance behind it. However due to the USA going green Regards. Neil. |
