I checked out the Spring Meadow Nursery site -- love the way their search feature is organized by pulldown menus! They have a lot of great plants, and I love that they carry the Proven Winner line... I have good luck with PW plants.
Wow, do they have hydrangeas... love the compact ones and the rebloomers (especially the lace rebloomer -- Starlight, maybe?)... and check out 'Invincibelle', their pink ribbon hydrangea. http://www.springmeadownursery.com/plant/33700
try peonies from Klehm Song Sparrow, it's easy to get on the wholesale list & I've heard good things about them (they have tree peonies too). I'm looking for some big doubles with scents. Hollingsworth is the best I've ever seen, a bit more expensive I think than Klehms, but peonies are lifetime plants so a few bucks won't matter too much.
Also looking for a couple "Harry Lauders Walking Stick", (not quite sure of name) it's nice and contorted, other contorted trees or bushes would also be nice.
I want a bunch of dark pink phlox (or red) creeping.
If we want to suggest additional plants for the current multiple vendors co-op, can we do so on the co-op thread or should we keep that sort of chat here? Or do further selections have to wait for a fall co-op?
I'm especially looking at 'Pinky Winky' and 'Invincibelle Spirit' hydrangeas... stopped by my favorite local nursery for a quick browse this afternoon, and they have both of those varieties -- but they are in 2 gallon pots, nice sized 2-3' shrubs with a $46 price tag. *gulp* If I can get liners at co-op prices, I could wait a couple of years for 3 foot shrubs! Otherwise, I can probably talk myself into splurging at the nursery for at least one of them.
JIll you can post either but my brokers didn't have either of those avail. I love the pinky winky too. I will run these again next spring if you want to wait.
Okay who is the writer out there. I would like to get our cubits in the news letter. I wrote up something for Dave, it was too long. then it was too short.
could Someone help on this? We need exposure if we are going to continue these co-ops and sales.
