If weather and time have taken a toll on your plastic lawn furniture, breathe new life into it with a fresh coat of paint. It is a quick and easy way to freshen up tired lawn furniture and add a pop of color to your yard.
Clean the furniture that will be painted by scrubbing with mild soap and water. Refer to the preparation instructions on the label for your specific paint.
Let dry thoroughly.
Apply the paint by holding the can about 10 inches from the surface and spray in even, overlapping strokes.
Let the paint dry completely, then apply a second coat.
Let dry.
Apply several thin coats to avoid pooling and drips.
Paint all the surfaces of the furniture, including sides and the bottom, to get a professional look.
Follow the manufacturer instructions for best results.
Older, sun-damaged furniture seems to absorb the paint somewhat, so you may need to apply an additional coat to get the look you want.
Work in a well-ventilated area.
Cover your work area to protect it from over spray.
