Susan, thank you for posting that chart. I was surprised by how late some corns can be planted. Must be for fall crops. I didn't notice much else being listed for fall gardens but I know there are some. Like peas, lettuces, radishes, etc.

I never plant fall gardens but this may be a first for me this year. The Swiss Chard just aren't handling this heat well at all. In fact, they aren't growing at all. I may just cover it up with the soil from the raised bed and some mulch/compost and try again in mid August. That gives almost a month for me to get that soil broken up and spread out within the concrete block sides which I also need to get moved into place. Groan, oh my aching back. I have to be careful with that much weight. I think a dozen blocks will be plenty. Each block weighs about 36#.
