I saw robins yesterday and the local blue heron returning last week. Hundreds of geese circling ponds and fields the other day. I know all of these birds overwinter in the Ozarks but they usually don't show up here until warmer weather. It may be a long, cool, wet spring like last year tho.

A walk thru the yarden this morning let me see lots of daffodils, some fall crocus, and violets popping thru to soak up some sun. I pray they don't get bitten hard by the really cold night temps predicted by the weather people in the K.C. area.

GOD bless and keep each of you.

There is a lot of snow on the ground in Northwest Missouri. I am so looking forward to spring and playing in the dirt.

Debbie, I am so disappointed that more Missourians have not joined us here. I have told several people about your cubit but they seem unwilling to leave the old DG in spite of saying they would go where Dave went. Maybe when their subscriptions run out they will think about it more seriously. There is one group that I am sure if one would move over here most of the forum members would follow. I'll have to keep trying to talk them into it.

GOD bless and keep each of you.

I'm also surprised...we'll see how it goes...let's keep trying to get members over here.

The snow on the ground is going to melt a lot over the next few days. I have been planting seeds and preparing my greenhouse for the onslaught of veggies and flowers I start each year.

Looking forward to spring.

The night sky was just alive with the sounds of wild geese flying last night. I went out to do some little task about 8:30 and heard them It was a thrill. I couldn't tell which direction they were headed tho.

A poor little female Cardinal must have flown into the window yesterda just before I walked to Kyle's last night about 6:30 or so last night. She was still warm when I picked her up. I took her to 6 yr. old Skyler to see but he wasn't very interested. His daddy finally threw it out into the yard. Cardinals are here year around.

GOD bless and keep you and yours. I really mean that. It isn't just something to say to sound nice. I am truely praying blessings on you and yours(including this cubit).

Good to see someone besides Deb & myself posting. Welcome.

I have lots of signs of spring around here. Yesterday was a miserable cold, rainy, cloudy, windy, March day that felt and looked more like Jan. Temps were in the 40s but felt more like the low 20s to teens. Today was much better.

GOD bless and keep each of you.

Time to walk the property and see what's popping up. I see tulips, daffodils, naked ladies, star of bethlahem, daylilies, and alliums. My new bushes that I planted last spring are hiding. Now that I got a closer look I see they were mowed down to nubs by hungry bunnies. There are so many cloudy days in Missouri that some days you just need to make your own sunshine.

GardenD. do you have any extra Star of Bethlehem you could share with me for postage? If I have any I don't have the correct identification on them. I would like to have some that I can put a big marker beside and a wire ring around to be sure I know what they look like.

We got about 4" of glistening white snow from the storm. It won't last but it kept me out of church this morning. There were accidents and just vehicles off in the ditch all over yesterday so I had no desire or intention of possibly being one of them. My foster DD had been using my van but brought it back to me yesterday. I had to take her back to town, get a prescription picked up and do some shopping while in town. The snow should be melted enough tomorrow morning for me to get to work. The drive is already a bunch of puddles.

GOD bless and keep each of you.

Leaflady, I would be happy to share some star of bethlahem with you. I don't have a lot so it will just be a small bunch. Have you done this before? Can you tell me the best way to package them and mail them? Feel free to email instructions and your mailing address to me.
