| I was wondering the same thing about the daisys, would they live here, and would they become a nusance? I have avoided California poppies for that reason, although I do enjoy driving through White Salmon, Washington, a town on a hillside with retaining walls overflowing with California poppies, some sprouting between rocks and others growing in the gravel beside the road. The town is decorated like a Bavarian Village and I think they probably have an Octoberfest. It's quite picturesque. I've not driven through it later than about August. When I see the places where those poppies grow, I think I had better not plant them. We have enough invasives, some of which I planted myself. The problem with the neighbor's timing is that there are too many projects and too little time. He started on the repairs to the barn posts several weeks ago, but then his other projects took priority, things like a broken water line near the house, and an irrigation line he was using to supply water to his cattle sprung a leak, a big leak. His daughter got married, and those festivities and the visiting relatives took some time, and then the daughter and son in law went on a week long honeymoon trip, and he had no help at all. This is typical. That's why I asked him if I could help him get ready, because I knew that some night we would have a bunch of newborn lambs and nowhere to put them! I sure hope he gets the other 2 posts cemented in soon and the cement mixer and other tools out of the barn. Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.
