I don't watch too many of these; the dialogue mostly stinks and I sit there wondering why I'm not a writer instead of the morons who are. Exceptions for me are The Big Bang and Modern Family. Two new shows I'm sorta enjoying are 2 Broke Girls and Last Man Standing. What are you watching?

I've been watching Last Man Standing if I'm home, and think of it. I missed the first few episodes, some things just don't seem to make sense in my mind. Like, that is a huge gorgeous house, and they seem to be an very upper middle class family, but he is a store manager, or something (I think). I wouldn't think a store manager's salary would afford a house like that.
I've been watching New Girl, which can be cute at times. Not familiar with 2 broke girls, I'll have to look for it.

LOL, Jerry! I was never a regular Seinfeld watcher, but every now and then, I'll watch an episode in syndication. Sometimes, they irritate me so much I just want to slap 'em; other times, the show is so hilarious, I'm laughing till tears roll down. I know that show must have been analyzed six ways from sundown but whatever made it work was genius.

Seinfeld is an amazing show. It never gets old. I catch a rerun now and then, and I'm just as delighted with it now as I was years ago. It broke all the sitcom rules. It really was a show about nothing, and the characters were so flawed and so shallow that they shouldn't have had any fans at all, but it worked. George's parents, in particular, are so horrible that I automatically start laughing as soon as any scene with them begins.
I watch a lot of comedies now. I guess my favorites are Community, Modern Family, Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Parks & Rec, and The Middle. The one I like the most is Cougar Town, but they keep taking it off the schedule or running it at times that can't possibly muster a large audience. It's as though they want it to fail. They did that before with Better Off Ted, which had interesting characters and wonderfully funny plots. It eventually failed because no one knew it was on.
I watched The Office faithfully for years, but I don't like it so much this year. It's not just the loss of Michael; it's as if the writers have run out of stories.

OMG, has anyone been following Two and a Half Men this season, the first without Charlie? I can't believe this show airs in prime time - and way before bedtime for kiddies. I must admit I laugh at a lot of the jokes, but it's getting raunchier and raunchier. If you watch and don't wait for Chuck Lorre's vanity card at the end, you're missing one of the best parts of the show. Seriously, they're that funny.

I watched the first one because I wanted to see the funeral, which was handled in a very funny way, I thought. I actually had stopped watching the show even when Charlie was on, and it was precisely because of how raunchy the jokes were getting. Sex and the City had the same effect on me after the first couple of years. I'm not a prude by any means, but the jokes on both shows were so graphic that they produced an "ick" response.

You know, Chuck Lorre is also responsible for The Big Bang and that show **never** devolves into vulgar sex or scatalogical (my least favorite of all) jokes. So why does he rely on the "ick factor" as you say?
