| I love shows about doctors and lawyers, so I watch all of those. I also like Parenthood. I don't like any form of science fiction or fantasy -- not books, movies, or TV. There was even a show about doctors that I passed up this season because the main character talked to his dead wife as he worked. I'm not interested in any of the vampire shows. I like some shows about cops and don't like others. I think it depends on the characters. I like Castle and The Mentalist, for example, but I have no wish to watch Hawaii Five-0 and I've never seen any of the NCIS shows. Oh, and I love cop shows that aren't on the main national networks. Southland and Justified are firm favorites, and I still miss The Shield, which was one of the best shows I've ever seen. The show I'd love to see again is St. Elsewhere, which has never been in reruns on any channel I get, and it's never been put out on tape except for the first few episodes. |

| Blue Bloods is a decent cops show as it delves into family interactions. Too many dramas begin as true to their theme but revert back to the old syrupy soap opera formula. The old show Naked City was one of the better dramas. |

| I like Castle, and Revenge, and still watching Grey's Anatomy, though it isn't as good as it was the first couple of seasons. |

| I watched Revenge for the first couple of episodes and it didn't hook me. Grey's Anatomy is a different story, though. I agree that it isn't as good as it once was, but they're like old friends now, and I'll keep watching to see what happens to them. |

| i have yet to see revenge. i love all law and order shows except SVU. I will watch NCIS when no L&O shows are on. visit http://www.cookfromtheheart.com frank I'm so old that when I was born the Dead Sea wasn't even sick. |

| I believe there are only 4 shows now that are on my "must watch" list... The Closer [ending this summer] The Good Wife -- I started watching it sometime in the 2nd season, so i'm sure there are things i missed Grey's Anatomy Private Practice - just sort of fell into that one, being right after Grey's and a spin-off With Grey's -- I still can not believe they killed off Teddy's DH. It's almost like they don't like anyone happy. Terese -- Itasca, IL & Lake Delton, Wi My Email is my userID at hotmail.com |

| I love the Good Wife. Been watching that one from the beginning. I just now began tivo-ing The Closer and now I've got to see if the seasons are available on Netflix. I think that one was on a cable network and I only recently found it in syndication. I told myself I'd quit watching Parenthood, but here I am, still watching. Those whiny people drive me crazy. Blue Bloods I've watched but not faithfully. Selleck is just so full of himself in that role and I can't imagine he's anything like a real commissioner/chief. The show's saving grace for me is Donnie Wahlberg and his partner. I'm a Law and Order addict. The last episode of SVU was so twisted, I had to wonder if it was - as the shows often are - "ripped from the headlines". If so, there are some sick, sick people out there. I miss Chris Meloni, but I do like the new actors. And Harry Connick is coming on, WOO-HOO!! I have got to find something to replace NCIS LA. Linda Hunt is fantastic, but the show has sunk so far into hokey-ness, I'm starting to regret sitting through it. Zuzu, the doc show I'd like to see again is Chicago Hope. The cast was terrific and the plots were sooooo good. Alma In matters of style, swim with the current; in matters of principle, stand like a rock. – Thomas Jefferson |

| Chicago Hope was a great show, Alma. So was ER, especially in the early years. You're going to love The Closer. I hope you can watch it from the beginning. The characters really grow on you through the years. I've never liked Tom Selleck. I think it's his voice that bothers me. I want a Clark Gable type to sound like Clark Gable too. Selleck's voice is so high-pitched that it grates on me. Some of the perps on SVU and Criminal Minds leave me stunned that I'm part of the same human race. But the evening news also makes me feel that way at least once a week. And so do Toddlers & Tiaras and those shows about the coupon queens. |

| Oh, I forgot about ER! That was a great show. I think I'll look for that one, too. There were a couple of actors in that show that I liked a lot that didn't seem to move on to the star category of Margulies or Clooney. You gotta wonder why that happens when the acting ability of one is on par with the other. Anthony Edwards and Noah Wylie come to mind. | Anthony Edwards had already been around forever by the time ER came on. He'd made a lot of silly teenager movies: Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Revenge of the Nerds, How I Got into College, etc. He also had played an extremely likable character on Northern Exposure, but by the time he was in ER, he had lost his looks and wasn't really star material anymore. |

| Northern Exposure. Another fine show that I watched faithfully. That brought up a few more old shows: Picket Fences, a fabulous show with one of my favorite actors, Tom Skerritt; Sisters with Sela Ward and ... what's her name; NYPD Blue; and my all-time fave, West Wing. | Oh, yes, all of those, and let's not forget the trailblazer of the ensemble shows -- Hill Street Blues. |
|
|||
| Oh yes... I watched most of those too. NYPD Blue Hill Street ER - only missed 1 episode due to a vacation Picket Fences Sisters [was that the name of the show? i have forgotten, but watched it for yrs.] Anthony Edwards was also in Top Gun. Tom's partner who died. Was that Goose?? But I liked him in ER, hated the way he died. As my favorite shows end, i try my best NOT to pick up new ones... as i really hate spending time in front of the TV. That's probably why I never see the 1st yr of a new show... like The Closer and Good Wife. Terese -- Itasca, IL & Lake Delton, Wi My Email is my userID at hotmail.com |
