I watch these kinds of shows, hoping to glean some essence of style. It's amazing what some people go in here dressing like.
I'm not sure I go along with the usual rationale of the 'coaches' though, they lways seem to tell the makeover that they are hiding something, have terrible self esteem...etc... Do you think thats true? Really, I wonder what others think of that.

One should not make catty remarks about another person but what is up with Newt's third wife? Is she real or the result of a poorly planned makeover? My wife says she may be a mannequin borrowed from Tiffany's display window as part of his $250k revolving credit line.

LOL, Jerry! I've only caught a glimpse of her once or twice as I usually try to avoid anything Newt.
We don't have cable, but I now and then catch a show called Style by Jury. I like that they make some real (and expensive) changes to people, like full mouth dental work. I don't think changing someone's wardrobe for a show makes any lasting difference, but teeth where there were none surely do.

I never watch these, partly because I have my own ideas (probably eccentric) about style and most likely would dislike the "afters" as much as the "befores," but when I did watch home makeover shows, such as 'Queer Eye for the Straight Guy,' the results always looked the same and were rather boring.
Jerry, I've never seen any of Newt's wives, probably for the same reason as Alma. I'll have to google her because your wife's description is so funny.
I have seen her several times and she never changes. Her face is almost like white porcelain. She always has a wide smile but her expression never changes. Her hair is almost white , in what I recall as possibly a seventies cut. Never a hair out of place. A mannequin look if there ever was one. Cold as an ice cube. Newt said of his first wife, as she was in the hospital with cancer, she was not pretty enough or young enough to be the wife of a President. This one may meet his standards.
