Well, here we go again. I'm planning to tape this first episode, but I don't know when I'll get around to watching the tape. It's on at the same time as 'The Voice,' 'House,' and "Big Bang Theory.' All of them will be taped and I'll naturally watch 'The Voice' first, 'House' next, and 'Big Bang Theory' after that. DWTS is pretty low on my list of priorities.

Thanks for the forum Zuzu!

Oh boy, what a good first show of the season. When I first saw the line up of stars a few weeks ago I thought, ' Why pick some of those folks?" I was thinking some of them maybe were to old to try and keep up with the young ones, but last night showed how wrong I was about that.

I was having such a good time hated to see the last contestant dance. Can't wait til next week and it sure going to be hard to see any of them go home.

The Cast:

Maria ( host of a program called Extra, I don't know her) and Derek did the Cha-Cha. Was good. She started the evening off right. She has a body, could have put a little more hip movement into it, but was good

Jack Wagner ( soap opera) and Anna with a Fox trot. it sure did have that feel good factor too it. Wasn't bad for first time. Actually I was more interested in Anna's dress thinking I wish I had one like it.

Donald Driver (Green Bay Packers) and Peta doing a Cha- Cha I cracked up when she said he had the skinniest legs ever. He sure does for a football player.
Yep he can move, but it nice to see that there a lot of other folks who have moves too and that maybe this season it won't be down to a professional FB player and somebody else. Seems lately that it was always one of them at the end.

Gavin Degraw (sp) ( A singer I have nevr heard of) with Karina doing a Fox Trot. Wasn't bad. A bit shaky in some places. Still not bad, kept me watching.

Roshaon ( Some Disney program and Rapper) with Chelsie. He was good. Have to agree with Len on not so much hip hop, but it worked well with the song and program last night.

Sherri Sheppard ( The View) with Val. Loved her Cha-Cha. I say, ' You go Girl". She's got the hips and the moves. Got to give the woman alot of credit. She did such a great performance and was able to keep up the pace even with the heavy load she carries on top. Gonna be interesting to see how she does with the Jive and Fox Trot with all the bouncing around. Not having much on top, I wonder how she gonna keep all that from hitting her in the chin. Gonna watch the View today just to see her reaction to last night.

Melissa ( Little House on Prairie ) and Max. Boy seeing her took me back. I used to watch that show all the time. Haven't seen it in ages or her and sometimes you forget these people to grow up and get older. I was surprised to here she had broken her back. Wonder how she did that. I'm not sure that if I had a broke back I would be trying to do something such as aggressive as what this dancing show will require.

Max is such a hard task master too, I wonder that he will push her beyond what her body can handle. I could be wrong but it looked like when he dipped her that he was trying to watch her back. Also, may have been just my eyes, but it looked like one of Max's feet slipped, but the recovery was so quick it hard to tell and the judges didn't say anything.

William ( Latin American heartthrob) and Cheryl Boy he does have the moves and the body for doing the Latin dances for sure. He'll go far I got a feeling unless he really messes up.

Martina ( Tennis Player) and Tony. Her and Tony performed a very nice Fox Trot. Didn't know she had breast cancer. For somebody who only slams tennis balls, I think she did a really good job for first timing dancing. Hope she gets to hang around for a while and grow into a pair of heels.

Kathrine Jenkins ( Classical Singer) and Mark. Very beautiful and elegant Fox Trot. Could have watched them float around the dance floor for a bit longer. Like some other folks, wonder how she is going to do with the quicker dances, but than she could surprise everybody.

Gladys Knight ( Empress of Soul) and Tristan. For a 63 or 64 year old woman she sure can shake her tail feathers. She can sell it that for sure and still be elegant while doing it. Can't wait to see what else she been hiding all these years.

Jaleel White ( Erckle) and Kim. What can I say, Great ending to the show and such a surprise. After so many years of watching him, trip fall and and pull up them suspenders it was hard to accept the fact that he had grown into such and elegant gentleman.

After last night, I can't wait to see what happens next week. Hopefully Jack and Melissa get a little bit better. Think both of them could be in jeopardy. I think they partnered up the pros just right this year too.

Hurry up next Monday. Hilarious!

What a great summary, Ella! Now I'll watch the tape sooner than I would have. When I've watched advance publicity for the show, Jack Wagner has received the most coverage. Maybe he has a bigger fan base than some of the others and will be safe for a while.

Popping in quick before the thunderstorms start again. Jack may have gotten advance publicity, but It all been about William since. Kathrine and Jaleel getting their share of good reviews too.

After such a great opening week, just hope the stars can hold it together for next week. That Jive can be a bear. Quickstep too, as they both going to take a lot of energy.

4 days too go til happy feet time. Smiling

Gladys Knight is just a couple of months away from 67, Ella. Isn't she wonderful? I love watching her perform, whether it's singing or dancing. She just radiates joy.

I still haven't watched the first episode, but I've heard wonderful things about it. The bar is set so high this year. These are seriously good dancers. No one is a joke this season, in contrast to past seasons.

I watched my tape of the second episode a few hours ago and I was most impressed by Katherine, Maria, and Roshon. Roshon Fagan, a complete mystery to me because I had never heard of him or seen him before, is a great dancer! It was hard to tell which dancer was the pro in that segment, even though Chelsie Hightower is certainly no slouch herself.

Maria and Derek might be the cutest couple I've ever seen on DWTS, with the possible exception of Kelly Monaco and Alex Mazo in season 1.

Sherri Shepherd was also a joy to watch, although she's not a great dancer by any means. She's having so much fun, and I had fun watching her.

Martina looked terribly insecure and uncomfortable, and so did Melissa Gilbert. Melissa was stiff and either she was tense or I felt tense watching her.

Jaleel, Donald, Gavin, and William didn't make much of an impression on me. They certainly weren't awful, but they weren't standouts either.

Jack Wagner was a lot better than I had expected, but I had to keep asking myself whether he really was Jack Wagner. He's still handsome, but he bears so little resemblance to the pre-plastic surgery Jack Wagner.

A few days late. but catching up. Planting season now.

Second episode was good, not as good as the first. Probbaly because they have so few days from now on to try and learn the dances plus do their regular jobs.

Oh ya, Gladys is a first class lady all the way. Ya know in the past seasons they have had older contestants and while they were "cute" to see, they just looked so out of place. Not Gladys. That woman has the moves and I actually was impressed with her Quickstep. That I believe and the Jive are the two hardest dances to complete. If I'm not mistaken I think she has the Samba or Ramba next week. If so I imagine she is going to have fun with it and she has the hips to move it too. Yep, the Pips missed out for sure when they didn't let her dance. Hilarious!

One of the things that impressed me with Sherri was unlike alot of the other women, she not only had the Jive, all that bouncing around, but she actually did it in high heels. Most of the other woman are usually in lower heels, but not Sherri. She should show off her legs more often. She has some pretty ones. Gotta love her personality. I hope she gets to stay around for awhile.

Jack... I know when I first saw him, I wondered if he was the same Jack from the Soap Opera. He looks so good on the Tv show. Think they need to get him a bit more sexed up. Give him the same sorta stud look like on the Tv show. It's going to be interesting to see if he has any sly moves up his sleeves or should that be pant legs.

I actually thought Roshon did really well for the second episode. Not sure if I would have given him two 9's, but he deserved all 8's at least. I was surprised to see him in the bottom three. Didn't see that one coming.

I about fell off the couch when Len apologized to Donald. You never hear him do that and I think Donald had an outstanding first performance. he had a good performance this time too.

It's fun watching the competition between Mark and Derek. Both are good choreographers and very competitive. I can see the war is already on between both of those two.

Only thing I didn't like this week was some of the music. Last week the music was perfect for each dance and this time, some of the songs I had never heard of before and to me were more suited a packed disco than a dance competition.

One of the things I noticed last week and this week too is that somebody must have muzzled Max. He usually has comments or quips he says and two weeks now and not a word out of him. I hope they ungag him. I enjoy the little tussle s between him and the judges. I miss Bad Boy Max.

I wonder if Melissa was trying to be a bit more stiff after all three judges told her to keep her shoulders up last week. I have a neighbor who broke his back from a trucking accident and I notice he always stiff too. You usually don't see him, bend down at all. Lower things he has his wife or an employee get. As the competition gets tougher and more dips and bends and tricks are put into the movements I wonder if she will be able to cope. I know her and her back has to be on Max's mind and him wanting to win, but not have her re-injured for sure.

I felt so bad for Martina. When she lost the first section of steps I knew she had knocked herself out of the game. Still she was very gracious about being the first to be knocked off. You have to feel sorry for their partners as I know they want to win the mirror ball and Tony is a good pro.

Jayleel and William weren't bad , but they gonna have some tough competition against Katherine. I think her and Maria maybe in in the final two at the end.

When it gets to the top five these are my pics.

1. Katherine
2. Maria
3. William
4. Donald
5. Either Gladys or Donald those two both have staying power I think.

Oh, did you watch the results show with Sugarland? See a new show coming too next month I think it is. Duets. Gotta love all the song and dance shows on Tv. They not only nice to watch, they healthy for ya too.

I thought it was a great show last night - and I cried right along with them. So many sad stories. This might be Cheryl's year again and I have to applaud her costuming as well as her dancing. What I don't quite understand is all the brown, beige, pink and coral stuff. It's not memorable or even all that pretty. I absolutely loved Gavin McGraw's Marlon Brando costume. He may not be the best dancer, but you can tell he's really working to improve and he has one of the best smiles in the bunch. He'd be my teen heartthrob if I were still a teen. Or even close... I had my Tivo queue screwed up and missed most of last night's show. Missed "The Kiss" - and Wm. Levy's performance, too. Who do you think did best last night?

Alma.. Hopefully you got to see the results show last night and got to see what ya missed.

I was really ticked off about this weeks show when I found out there was going to be a dance off between the bottom two.

I don't think it was fair or right. Made me even wonder why I bothered to vote. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. and I mean a big Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

So what if some of the "better" dancers were sent home early in past competitions. The judges get their chance to give their score and we have to accept it whether we like it or not. We as the viewers and the folks who do the voting should be allowed to vote for who we want.

Tough dancing booty if somebody the judges think is a good dancer and they get voted off. Some of the folks that have been kept over so called better dancers is because maybe they had personality, but also because maybe they didn't know how to dance and yet each week you watched them get a bit better and could see they was trying and had potential.

If the judges expect to only have who they consider the best and not what us public votes as the best, than why even bother to have us vote.

It is like rigging the competition. I don't think it is fair, nor is it right. It just like over on Idol. Yes, I agree they should have used their save for Jessica, but they didn't have to make such a big production out of it. It's like it has tainted the show. Ya know who the judges all want to win and they shouldn't be influencing folks.

Oh, I could complain for hours. I have never facebooked or twittered, but I tell ya I was about ready to to voice complaints. If your going to be a judge, be a judge and let the people vote for who they want.

Well, I am sad to have seen Sherri gone and now Gavin. Gotta love their get out there and have fun attitudes.

Next week should be fun. It Moetown week. I know she has alot of followers and I enjoy watching her, but think it time for Gladys to say goodbye and hang up her dancing shoes.

I missed Donalds performance. Must have dropped off to sleep, but of the others I actually thought everybody did good. Maria, William, Katherine I think are in the top running three. I actually enjoyed Max and Melissa. That was pretty scary when she got hurt. I still want the old Max back. Somebody must have done alot of complaining about Max.

OMG, did anybody think Martha's girls were gonna bust out and bounce across the floor?! Rolling on the floor laughing I thought that Smokey must have been frozen when they first brought him out and he began to thaw as the show went on. He couldn't seem to move or even close his eyes during his first song, but he began to sway a little and smile toward the end.

As for the dancers, Katherine was terrific as usual; Donald and Jaleel were good and Gladys was so sweet and beautiful. If Cheryl doesn't let up on the sexy stuff, William is going to lose. She's been there long enough, she should know by now that Len disapproves of too much "raunch"!

Loved the music and band, Human Interest, I think. I suspect Gladys will go home tonight. Sad

Alma... What a show for sure. Hilarious!

I enjoyed Motown week. Was nice to see all the classic folks and take a trip down memory lane. I notice d that about Smokey too and I wondered did he go get a botox job right before the show or something.

I would have loved to have been hanging on the wallpaper in the back with all those guest singing stars. Wonder how long it has been since they have all been back together and on the same stage. I would have been drooling and asking for autographs.

Music and show was so good, wanted to get up and do the stroll. I gotta agree about Cheryl this time round. I mean she has had sexy men before, but never have I seen her go so crazy over one and it is like she is not respecting his girlfriend /fiance or his child with her going on and on about him this time. Somebody needs to give her a cutout of him that she could go to bed with and maybe get what itching her out of her system.

I think they all did really well this week. I hated to see Gladys go. I think if she could have gotten just a few more Jive kicks and flicks in that she would have been saved instead of Roshaon. His Jive just looked a litle to wild and all over the place for me.

Watched Gladys on the morning shows and she is such a lady and a very gracious one. First class all the way.

I waiting to see what happens next week. Max needs to step Melissa's game up or she going to be home next week.

I wonder how much all the gossip going around Jaleel from his ex girlfriend is hurting him.

I still don''t like the idea of having the dance off thing. Has ruined the show a bit for me.

The one I feel sorry for is Donald. I think he getting a bad rap with him being pitted against William all the time.

I did give a thumbs up to Melissa for speaking out. She right. They always do seem to pick out the bad stuff and arguments and show between the stars and their pros. She's not a bad dancer even though she is a bit stiffer with her back. I think she could go a bit further if they fixed her hair and face up a bit better and she looked more animated or something.

I think Melissa and Roshaon will be probably be the next two who go over the next couple of weeks.

Is Maria married or engaged or anything to anybody? While Cheryl fascinated with William it seems Derek getting awful cosy with her. One almost kiss and one for real. I wonder. Whistling

I caught Gladys and Tristan this morning on GMA. She's such a class act, she should start a school for all the little divas who wouldn't recognize class if it bit 'em.

Roshon may be in danger of going home. I can't remember the kid who got cut last year, but I do remember being very surprised. He was very good. Roshon does seem determined to dance better each week, so maybe part of his problem is Chelsie. Not a good enough teacher, perhaps?

At this point, it looks like a matchup between Katherine and Maria, with William and Donald hot on their heels.

Btw, have you noticed that Maria never laughs anymore? After the first show, when she sounded like a crazed donkey, she's just smiled and slightly - very slightly - chuckled. That laugh wasn't gonna get any votes!

I love Roshon. I hope he doesn't get cut before Melissa.

Maria's single, I think, and Derek has dated some of his former partners. She's big in the Greek community. I love seeing John Stamos and all the other Hollywood Greeks cheering her on in the audience.

Alma... I guess I didn't notice the laugh before hand, but I have noticed the past few weeks that she seemed different almost like she really wasn't there. May it the laugh missing that I don't notice her as such a contestant any more.

Didn't see John, but I know I did a double take the one night seeing Little Richard there. had to double check to make sure it was him, seemed from the quick view I had that his top mustache was gone.

I don't have cable so maybe that is why I have never seen Maria or heard about the show Extra, so I don't know anything about her. Thanks for filling in the blanks.

Wonder what they dancing too this week ( theme). Must have been getting coffee when they said. I figure competition is going to be fierce from now on. Not too many weeks left.

( OT) Had to laugh my head off though during one of the breaks as up popped a commercial for the upcoming show Duets which I think starts after DWTS. Have you seen it.

Does like an impression of American Idols Judges and their same comments over and over again until a mic is thrown at the screen and the new Duet folks come on. Whoever did that commercial I applauded them. It was too funny and they got it so right. Hilarious!

Zuzu, I did see that ad for Duets and thought it was pretty funny. It owes Apple for the mic throwing bit, though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhsWzJo2sN4 And I do think it's interesting that Kelly, while coaching on Voice/NBC is touting her new show on ABC! Watch for Fox to come up with something new to compete.

I'm looking forward to SYTYCD; I just hope it turns out to be as good as last season. I do wish shows like DWTS would credit the dancers and do a bit more to showcase individuals. Guest singers are given all the credit, but dancers seem to be too unimportant to name. And while I'm wishing, I wish Nigel or Cat would begin the show with an update on past season contestants. I'd like to know what Melanie is doing.

Yep, I caught Little Richard and wondered what the heck he was doing there. I don't associate him with Motown.

I don't have a clue what they'll be dancing to this week.

Ella's the one talking about the Duets ad, Alma. I did notice it was a parody of the old Apple ad, which itself was a parody of "Metropolitan," an old silent movie.

Little Richard was there to support Gladys Knight. He was seated with her other supporters.

I actually know what Melanie Moore's doing now because of DWTS. She's a member of Travis Wall's new dance company, Shaping Sound, along with Nick Lazzarini (SYTYCD season 1 winner), Jaimie Goodwin (Hok's partner on SYTYCD season 3), and Ryan Ramirez, the girl we all hated last season on SYTYCD. They performed on a recent DWTS show.

The bad thing is SYTYCD starts same time and day I believe as Duets. Looks like it gonna be a click back and forth from channel to channel type thing.

Oh you know Fox will. I know they just finished holding auditions here for folks to have a definite audition spot for X Factor. I always thought all the folks that show up to these program auditions got to be seen. I say be competitive. I'm enjoying the heck out of all the singing and dancing shows instead of some of what I personally call junk. Besides music is very healthy for you and so is dancing.

The enjoyment must run in the blood. Way back in her younger years my mother used to play piano and sing in a little music shop and sold sheet music. She may have been a halfway good singer in those days, but by the time all kids came along, I know her voice was not bad , but not that good. Probably from chasing and yelling at us kids all time. Hilarious!

I got to see from the local news some of the talent that tried out and the winner. From seeing last years X contestants, I doubt very much the hopeful from here will have a chance, she's good, but not that good and no where in X Factor league yet. She might have a better chance with AI.

All my life I have always wondered if Little Richard's mustache was real or made from mascara and drawn on. I have him classed in more the Rock and Roll era than Motown too. Other than show performances and tv commercials you usually don't see him, so I surprised to find he would go to something like DWTS.

Sound's like Shaping Sound is going to be something awesome with choreographers and great dancers like the names you listed. I always liked Travis. Think Nick coached a couple of times too SYTYCD dancers. Several of those choreographers are great artists. I am amazed at what they come up with.

DWTS usually after the guests gives a quick thanks to the showcased dancers. I wonder if they don't give them more credit than that to keep everybody at peace. Most of them have been competing against each other at competitions all their lives and I could just see a few of them having major fits of they thought somebody got a bit more credit than they did. Well, look what happened when Max opened his mouth up last year and said about it being his show. What he wanted to say, he said wrong and that was a major blow up all over the net and tv.

It would be nice though. Only time you really get to find out anything about the pros is when they first starting the season and introduced with their new partners.

I saw Travis' routine, but other than a mention of his name and Nick's, there was no credit given to the other dancers. Next time, I'm going to pay more attention as the credits roll just to see if names are given. I loved Travis when he was a contestant and I've since marveled at some of his routines. It's amazing that someone so young has that amount of sensitivity.
