| I have the first episode on tape because it came on after something else I watch on ABC, but I haven't watched it yet. I never really liked Emily, but the drama is created by the men interacting with one another, so she isn't that important. |

| So far an interesting bunch of bachelors. Some seem decent, some seem a bit quirky and one definitely thinks he is all that with the way he appeared. I am hoping the guy who brought the ostrich egg has a nice cushioned safe for it. I am wondering how long before somebody gets made and decides to either cook it for breakfast or hit somebody with it. I sure hope he is not planning on carrying it around to every place and everything they do. Already I am worried about the guy who got the first impression rose. He seems so nice and he is a single dad with a young son. Ya never know, but she and Rikki have been together for what 6 or 7 years and I imagine that Rikki while maybe willing to share a bit of her mothers time with a man is not going to easily share time and space with a possible older sibling. Sure hope he and his son don't get hurt. I haven't decided if "Prince Charming" is for real yet or not. I do wonder if he gave her the other shoe. I don't know who made the bobble head of her, but if I was that guy, I sure wouldn't have given it to her. It looked she was having a bad hair and makeup day all at once. On a good note, at least nobody got drunk to start the night off and be sent home in disgrace. I was chuckling to myself cuz those guys came in all polite and as soon as they got by themselves some of the crude words came out. She corrects Rikki is she uses a "potty word" wonder if she gonna correct the guys. Going to be interesting to see how long they can keep the polite language up without being caught. Was LOL at some of Kelly Rippa's remarks. They showed part of a preview of upcoming where somebody goes off about Emily and her baggage. Kelly was talking about how Emily such a southern lady with southern charm, but Emily lets loose with a few words herself I guess in the episode. When Cris was talking to Emily she mentioned about having all those guys there and wanting her,but when she is home there is nobody asking for her at the grocery store and such. Does make you kind of wonder why. She does have the looks that would attract men, but ya never know what's on the inside. I did feel bad for the bachelor that got sent home with the 6 kids. They need to let him be a bachelor. Forget what his name was. It just as easy to cook for 6 as it is one. Just means more homemade pics and hand print magnets to put on the fridge. : ) Mr. Helicopter is already the bad guy in the house. Wonder how long before somebody gives him a punch or two. |

| I fell asleep about half way through. For a young single mother, she sure has a huge beautiful house. Did they ever say what she does for a living? Just curious. |

| Deb.... Good question. You noticed that too. I think when she first came on in Brad's season she was just listed as a single mom. I don't think I have heard her mention at all if she works or not. Don't think I even ever heard her tell Brad what she did except to take care of her daughter. When she was on the Brad season, I thought well maybe she got some insurance money. Thought since they were going to be married, I wondered if maybe that had originally been his house and they maybe lived together and he already had things listed into her name. It's big house and tastefully furnished so it not cheap. Wonder if she has some old Southern money or inheritance or something that keeps her going. She drives a soccermom car, but it looks almost new and they are not cheap to run and the lawn is well manicured and quite large. Both her and Rikki are well dressed and well spoken, which made think of old money. Maybe somebody will have the answer. |

| Oh, forgot, did you see the preview of some of the gowns they made for Emily. I always thought the girls brought along their own wardrobe. 70 Gowns and outfits have been created for her. That's a big chunk of designer money. Wonder if she gets to keep all of them. |

| Looks like little Miss quiet and soft spoken has a backbone. Looks like she is playing hardball this time with the guys. Asking the hard questions. Can't blame her really. But while she looking for a total package, she clearly showing he has to be attractive on the outside first. Enjoyed a chuckle watching Ryans face when he found out he would be making cookies. LOL Bet that was a first for him. Think lots of these guys are going to be having to do some back paddling and coming up with new lines. The old standbys are not going to work with a single mom child as think his name was Randy that got sent home last night. It will be interesting to see if and how long she keeps the ones around that are already fathers. I could be wrong, but while she says she wants more children, I just don't know if she can unbend enough to accept somebody else's child. She hoovers so much over Rickki I am just afraid that if push came to shove between Rickki and somebody else's child, she would pick her own daughter. Blended families are alot of work and lots of drama comes in to play. Takes an open heart and alot of patience to make them work. |

| I still haven't watched the first show, but I did watch last night. She's much more likable than she was on Brad's season, when she kept being portrayed as a tragic story and nothing else. And she's the best-looking bachelorette ever: She's a flawless beauty! I agree, Ella, that she won't want to saddle her daughter with a new sibling as well as a new parent. It would be too much. |

| I saw a preview last night where she spends time talking with Reba and Reba asks her what she wants in a man. Also saw a preview for Mondays show where this Jaylon, think is his name, the one everybody in the house already against, talks with her and tells her he always expected his first child to be his own and Emily says something and he comes back with asking her to wait til he finished talking. She says she likes tall, handsome and humor, but not condescending. Should make for an interesting Monday night. Wonder if she will keep him or sending on his way. Yes, she is more human. Think we are finally getting to see the real Emily. She's not all just a cupcake frosting. |

| People, and I'm one of them, always talk about how phony and exploitative this show is, but I guess the producers do leave some potential watercooler moments on the cutting room floor. It turns out that Alessandro thought he was a vampire hunter and he had built a shrine and filled it with crosses to ward off the vampires. Here's a clip showing footage they didn't air on the show. http://insidetv.ew.com/2012/06/04/the-bachelorette-alessandr... I think they showed admirable restraint in not showing this. They let us assume that Emily sent him home because their goals were too different, but she's clearly creeped out in this clip. Good thing the camera guys follow her around. Otherwise, I think she would have let out a blood-curdling shriek and raced all the way back to the house. |

| Where did all of the crybaby men come from? Why are men on reality shows suddenly crying over nothing. On The Bachelorette, we see these big brawny guys crying over the stupidest things: "Boo hoo, I miss my son." "Boo hoo, we lost the race and now the other team gets to take her out to dinner." They're on the cooking shows too, crying because their apple pie didn't have nice crust or because their lava cake collapsed. |

| Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!! Glad they didn't show that either. I thought they screened all these folks good before allowing them on the show. Well,we down to the final three and looks like there is going to be some final drama tonight. Wonder who she doesn't let into the suite. Seen some of the previews for tonight. I can understand the worry about not meeting her daughter. I can understand her wanting to protect Rikki , but if your planning on bringing a new man into her life, seems to me you would want to slowly introduce the men to Rikki and get a feel for who Rikki likes and bonds with too. Children have a good sense of who is for real and who is not and who is patronizing them and who gives them the creeps. Shoot, she let Brad be around Rikki quiet a bit the last time round. I think so far the only time I have seen Rikki anywhere near the guys was when the girlfriends were sizing up the men. Still haven't figured out she is leaning more towards. Hummmmmmmmmm hard to decide for sure. She wants some fun in her life but stability too it seems. It will be interesting to see if her decision this time lasts longer than til the After the rose, tell all show. LOL |

| She might think it's too confusing to introduce Ricki to too many guys, but I agree with you that she should have done that earlier. I've heard rumors that there is no fantasy suite this time. Wouldn't it be ironic if Emily, the former 16-year-old unwed mother, would be the one bachelorette classy enough to put an end to this 'tradition"? I think Sean's a dud. He'll never be able to keep her interested. He doesn't have enough joy. Arie makes me suspicious for a number of reasons, so I guess I hope she picks Jef. |
| Zuzu, I agree with you about Sean and Arie, I am on team Jef. |
| He's so much fun, isn't he, Patti? I think Emily missed out on a lot of juvenile fun because she had to settle down and be a mother so early. She could recover what she's missing by choosing a silly and lighthearted guy. Besides, he's probably the most stable and most successful one, despite his casual demeanor. |

| Watching for the first time tonight. I am icked out by all the making out with each guy in the preview segment! A good night peck is one thing but apparently there's concurrent deep kissing with multiple guys. Yuck. I have to admit these people are having, or at least pretending to have, some more real discussions than a lot of people who get married. DS said its a TV version of a romance novel. At the moment, they are on Klein Curacao, their 'private island'. Its a common day trip to go there while on Curacao, but by boat. Private island, hmph. She does seem quite composed, esp in that scene with the vampire guy! I think that I shall never see...A poem lovely as a tree ( Kilmer) Whatever the weather, you can bring your own sunshine (DD) I'm not REAL smart but I think I'm pretty good average (my dad) |
| That was fun- watched it with my 21 yr old son and his female friend. We all shared similar disdain for the whole thing and amazment over the canned talking and the fact that here this girl is kissing all these guys and saying they are all perfect. Don't some people have drinking game parties with these shows? As in, take a drink every time someone says "perfect" I think that I shall never see...A poem lovely as a tree ( Kilmer) Whatever the weather, you can bring your own sunshine (DD) I'm not REAL smart but I think I'm pretty good average (my dad) |
| I think the most popular one is to take a drink every time someone says "journey." Otherwise, they change every season, depending on the favorite adjective of the bachelor or bachelorette. I remember one who said everything was "awesome" and another who thought everything was "fabulous." The "journey" one never gets old, though, because they all begin statements with: "When I started out on this journey......" |
| Who went home last night??? I watched the show, made it to the video messages from each of the guys, saw them arrive for the rose ceremony, and then fell asleep in front of the tv!! |
| Sean/ Shawn, the blond guy. She was looking pretty anxious over Arie's message so one of us thought that meant she HAD decided to cut him. Ah the drama! Journey sounds better than Short term acting and modeling contract I caught the out takes at the end! from Arie's message. Do they have some every show? I think that I shall never see...A poem lovely as a tree ( Kilmer) Whatever the weather, you can bring your own sunshine (DD) I'm not REAL smart but I think I'm pretty good average (my dad) |

I don't think I have heard her mention at all if she works or not. Don't think I even ever heard her tell Brad what she did except to take care of her daughter. Emily works for Levine Children's hospital in Charlotte as an event planner. Her family has money, and Ricki's Paternal Grandfather is a Multi Gazillionaire (using Forest Gump's word) Rick Hendrick is a NASCAR owner of the teams that Jeff Gordon, Jimmy Johnson, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kasey Kahne drive. Even if you're not a Nascar fan, I'm sure you recognize at least Gordon and Earnhardt's names. Ricki's grandfather is their boss, so while I'm sure there was some inheritance from Ricky when he died, I'm sure that Rick has made sure that Emily is taken care of if I remember correctly, she lives in the house that she and Ricky lived in together before his death. Emily met Rick's son, Ricky when Rick bought a house in Florida next door to Emily's parents. That's what tells me that Emily's family has money... if they lived next door to a house that Rick Hendrick would buy... it's got to be really expensive. I think it's interesting that Rick Hendrick donated boatloads of cash to the Hospital that Emily works for, so much that there are wings named for his son. So, my "guess" would be that Ricki's grandpa might have mentioned that his Grand-daughter's Momma needed a job when he donated the boatloads of cash... I don't know that, that's just my guess. I've thought all along she'd pick Arie... but I'm not sure. |
