|The Front Porch, Entrance Area and Dining Room
This is a brand new year, and this time we are going after some Details. Each week will have its own list of things that we can Detail Clean. We do this so that we never, ever have to Spring Clean again!
The lists may be long. The lists may be short. It will all depend on which area we are 'in' for the week. And, did you realize that we have only four complete weeks in January? Our Week Five will be very short, 'cause it's only for one day! Oh my!!
So, without further ado, here are our 'Marching Orders' for this week:
We are in the Front Porch, Entrance Area and Dining Room.
Let's have a' Fire Drill' in the Dining Room! Go get the hot spots cleared out!
All those stacks of serving pieces to put away. The piles of holiday items that we put on the dining room table to get to later, later is now!
Take 15 minutes and put things away where they belong you will be so glad you did!
Today take a look at the walls and the windows in your dining room.
Grab some cleaner and a cloth and go after the finger prints and smudges that those mysterious little elves seem to leave behind as they run through your house when no one is looking! LOL!
Be careful with the walls as not to rub too hard to remove paint!!!
This is a mission that will make the room appear just a bit brighter.
Have fun and enjoy! Remember You can do ANYTHING for 15 minutes!
Today is the day that you will spend 15 minutes in the entrance way of your home. Grab all the mail, shoes and jackets and put them away! I am always so surprised at how much stuff seems to accumulate in that one area! This is one area that when you tackle it and you are finished that you feel such a huge accomplishment because it is what you see first as you come through the door!
Set your timer and .......... GO!
Today you are to sweep your front porch area around your front door, if there's not too much snow and ice around, that is.
Shake out your welcome mats and wipe down your front door. This makes a huge difference in how your home looks. We have a tendency to neglect this area and yet it is the first thing that people see when they come to your home. Some of you may need to shovel off your porch first! Put away the snow boots, gloves, mittens, umbrellas and holiday decorations that have accumulated and are just hanging around waiting for you to take them home!
Spend 15 minutes taking care of this, you will be pleased with the results!
Let's go into the dining room and get down and dirty with the cobwebs and the dusties. Look up and look down, get the dust off the baseboards and the cobwebs out of the corners in the ceiling. While you are looking up, check out your light fixture, does it need to be dusted? How about the window sills and the tops of the blinds or curtains?
Once again, this is just a fifteen minute mission, so don't get carried away.
Now, for some Detailed Cleaning in these areas. I have a big, long list, and it makes it so much easier for me to choose to do two or three of these each time we are in this area of our home. If the Detailed List for the area is REALLY long, I'll do more than two or three. I keep a checklist handy, so unless I've noticed that what I did last month needs to be done again, I can remember what I have already done for the Detailed Cleaning and I'm not stuck on doing the same thing every month.
Are you ready?

|WOW --- I guess now is the best time to start copying this list into Word and print it out so it is handy. Great job Candyce and I for one am very grateful.....
Done - all copied - and I have a new folder to keep the weekly lists in so they are handy. Will you do this for each week this month? It sure is a big help to me....
I have lists for each week. I've been adding to them here and there for a couple of years. Now I feel like they are OK enough to pass on to others. I'm sure that I haven't covered EVERYTHING, but what I have listed should help.
I have all of my pages printed out too. It's all in my Playbook. This year, I am working on the Emergency Lists and Contact Lists to get them updated. I even have that written into my Routines, to work on these for just 15 minutes a day!
|I got most of the emergency numbers updated the other day> I still need to go through my home address book and my On-line address book. YES, ladies, you are all in there!!!! And it never amazes me how often I go to that book......
I need to break down my 15 minute segments in a different way this year. I have a lot of sewing I want to get done. I used to take the first 15 minutes of the hour but I really don't want to stop in the middle of a project. So I'll play with times during the month of Jan and see what works. Thank you so much Candyce for all you do for us. It is appreciated!!!
|THANK YOU Candyce -
The good news - I did the dining room table this morning! Can I go play now???
Where's Ann Marie???
|Hope she is not caught up in the weather mess in Calif.....|
|I hope she's not, too.
I am getting a bit concerned.
|I think I saw her on facebook since she has been gone from here but I could be wrong. Did I say I hate facebook? It's so confusing to me.
|I don't do Facebook.
I just learned to text last summer
|I don't do Facebook either. I've heard too many horror stories about viruses coming from there. Not for me....|
|I don't do cell phones.
